The early evening game on Saturday features the German side, who take on Mamelodi Sundowns, who themselves achieved history with a 1-0 win against Ulsan Hyundai. Cristian Chivu will look to secure his first win as Inter Milan manager when they play Urawa Red Diamonds.

The final two games on Saturday and Sunday morning see Fluminense take on Ulsan Hyundai, and River Plate looking to secure their place in the round of 16 with a win against CF Monterrey.

Borussia Dortmund are in great form, as the Black and Yellows are unbeaten in eight matches across all competitions. This run of form stretched back to the end of the season, where his side recorded five consecutive league victories against Holstein Kiel (3-0), Bayer Leverkusen (2-4), VfB Wolfsburg (4-0), Hoffenheim (2-3), and Borussia Mönchengladbach (3-2).

Borussia Dortmund have shown their dominance in recent fixtures by leading at half-time in six of their previous seven matches. Mamelodi Sundowns are expected to struggle against the superior side, and the South African side only just managed a 1-0 win in their opening game against Ulsan Hyundai.

Inter Milan have only lost once in six matches in all competitions, and the Italian side have scored first in six of their last eight games. Cristian Chivu began his tenure as Inter Milan manager with a 1-1 draw against CF Monterrey, with Lautaro Martinez cancelling out Sergio Ramos' 25th-minute opener. Before the UEFA Champions League final defeat against PSG, the Italian side had recorded victories against Como (0-2), Torino (0-2) and FC Barcelona (4-3).

Urawa Red Diamonds have only won once in their previous five in all competitions, after their defeat to River Plate (3-1).

Tip: Inter Milan to win

Fluminense, like many of their South American counterparts, demonstrated against Borussia Dortmund that this competition holds significant importance for those involved. The Brazilian side are unbeaten in their last six matches, with four victories in all competitions and the 0-0 draw with Borussia Dortmund.

Ulsan Hyundai are coming into this game with no wins in their previous three matches, and they suffered a 1-0 defeat against Mamelodi Sundowns. That defeat leaves them in a precarious position after just one game has been played. Ulsan Hyundai have not kept a clean sheet in five matches.

Tip: Fluminense to win

River Plate have won six of their previous eight matches, following their terrific performance against Urawa Red Diamonds. The Argentinian side have scored first in seven of their previous eight matches and would want to follow their performance from the first match, where they secured a 3-1 win.

CF Monterrey have only won twice in their last five matches. Both teams have scored in eight of the last nine games involving River Plate and in four of the previous five matches involving CF Monterrey.
