Cody Gapko: PSV Eindhoven - 3 Goals & 1 Assist

PSV forward Cody Gakpo is a name on many people’s minds, having shown his capabilities throughout the Dutch Eredivisie over the last couple of seasons.

The 23-year-old managed to score 21 goals and make 15 assists last season in 47 appearances, winning the Dutch Player of the Year and currently sits as the Europa League’s top scorer despite playing just two matches.

Gakpo managed to score a brace against Swiss champions Zurich, whilst creating one assist in a 5-1 win for PSV, whilst also bagging in a 1-1 draw with Norwegian outfit Bodo/Glimt.

In achieving these figures, Gakpo has had just six shots in this year’s competition, converting 50% of them, whilst having an accuracy of 67%.

Santiago Gimenez: Feyenoord - 3 Goals

Santiago Gimenez is perhaps a lesser-known player than Gakpo, but, the 21-year-old Mexican who signed for Dutch Eredivisie side Feyenoord from Cruz Azul in the summer looks to be making strides.

In just 64 minutes worth of Europa League action, Gimenez has fired in three goals, doing so in each of his late two appearances, scoring in a 6-0 win over Sturm Graz, as well as firing in a brace in a 4-2 loss to Serie A side Lazio.

Perhaps following three substitute appearances, Gimenez may get an opportunity to start, especially when considering that he has been lively, managing five shots across his three appearances, whilst converting 60% of them, meaning he averages a goal every 21 minutes.

Artem Dovbyk: Dnipro - 3 Goals & 2 Assists

Ukrainian forward Artem Dovbyk is having a superb time of things in the Europa Conference League, as his side, Dnipro sits second in Group E behind AZ Alkmaar, but, ahead of FC Vaduz and Apollon Limassol.

The 25-year-old has a good reputation in his homeland, having scored six goals in 14 caps for his country, whilst scoring 25 goals in 46 appearances since joining Dnipro. Dovbyk notably managed a goal and assist in a 2-2 draw with Vaduz, before scoring a brace and assisting in a 3-1 victory over Apollon Limassol.

Dovybk’s statistics show that he is a goal-hungry striker, having taken nine shots in three matches in this season’s Europa Conference League. The ex-Midtjylland forward notably has a shot accuracy of 56% with a conversion rate of 33%.

Jose Morales: Villarreal - 4 Goals & 1 Assist

Villarreal forward Jose Morales is next up, as the former Levante man is the top scorer in the Europa Conference League.

Entering this competition, the Yellow Submarine are one of the favourites, perhaps due to Unai Emery’s recent pedigree in European competitions. Morales’ goalscoring form has mainly come in Europe, following just one league goal in eight appearances for Villarreal.

The 35-year-old has scored four goals in this season’s Europa Conference League in just three games, whilst creating one assist. Morales bagged a hat-trick against Austrian Bundesliga side Austria Vienna on matchday one as Villarreal ran riot with a 5-0 win. Since then, he has scored in a 2-1 victory against Hapoel Be’er Sheva, whilst assisting in a 4-3 home win against Lech Poznan.

Staggeringly, Morales has taken just five shots to score four goals, scoring all four shots that he has had on target, equating to a goal every 42 minutes.

Fousseni Diabate: Partizan Belgrade - 3 Goals

The final player on this list comes in the shape of Fousseni Diabate of Serbian outfit Partizan Belgrade.

Diabate is a 26-year-old right-winger from Mali, who notably played for Leicester City between 2018 and 2020, making 15 league appearances for the Foxes.

So far this season, Diabate has scored three goals from just four shots in the Europa Conference League, playing a vital role in his side being top of Group D, ahead of the likes of Nice, FC Koln and Slovacko.

The former Trabzonspor player managed to score in a 1-1 home draw with Nice, whilst bagging a brace in a 3-3 away draw at Slovacko.
