5 Goalscorer Tips Across Europe - 20/8/22

Our first tip involves two sides from the Premier League, with Mikel Arteta’s side travelling south to take on Scott Parker’s Bournemouth.

Both sides have made an impressive start to the season, with Arsenal picking up two wins from two, and the Cherries picking up one win from their opening two that sees them sitting in 11th place.

Arsenal beat Leicester 4-2 in their last game, and their new signing Gabriel Jesus was heavily involved – the Brazilian scored two and also got two assists. Added to his impressive performance in Arsenal’s 2-0 opening day win against Crystal Palace - it has been a great start to life in London for Jesus. And that is why we are backing him to be involved in Arsenal’s goals this weekend, especially considering that he will be facing a Bournemouth side who conceded four goals last time out.

2020/21 Serie A champions Inter Milan take on minnows Spezia in our second tip, and we are backing Inter’s Argentine striker Lautaro Martinez to score in this one.

Martinez was the third highest goalscorer in Serie A last season, scoring 21 goals over the course of the season. Martinez hasn’t got off the mark this season, and so we are backing him to do so in this match.

In both of Inter’s games against this opposition last season, Martinez scored in each one – a penalty in the 2-0 win in the home fixture, before scoring the second in a 3-1 win in the return fixture, so that is why we think that Martinez will score here.

Our third tip is a Bundesliga clash between lowly Bochum and champions-elect Bayern Munich.

As expected, Bayern made a strong start to the season by picking up two wins from two, whereas their opponents have lost both of their opening games. We are backing Bayern to win this one, especially considering the fact that they have won eight out of their last 10 matches against Bochum.

We expect Julian Nagelsmann’s side to score quite a few goals in this one, and one player we think will be among the goals is Jamal Musiala. The 19-year-old has impressed ever since he has broken into the Bayern first-team, scoring five league goals last season.

Musiala has already made a great start to this season, with three goals in Bayern’s opening two games - we are backing him to carry on his impressive form and score in this game.

Our fourth tip takes us to France, where the current top two will take on each other on Sunday evening. PSG have won both of their opening two games in dominant fashion, scoring 10 goals in 5-0 and 5-2 wins over Clermont and Montpellier respectively.

The hosts have won and drawn one each in their two opening games, currently putting them second in the table. In this match, we are expecting two of PSG’s big hitters, Neymar and Kylian Mbappe, to be amongst the goals. Neymar already has three goals this season, and Mbappe also got off the mark for the season against Montpellier. Mbappe bagged against Lille in a 5-1 win last season, so his general quality, combined with Neymar’s impressive start to the season means that it is likely that the two will score.

Last season’s Spanish and European champions take on Celta Vigo in our final goalscorer tip, and both sides possess strikers who both achieved double-digit goal tallies last season in Karim Benzema and Iago Aspas.

Benzema scored 27 goals last season, while Aspas managed to score 18. In the two clashes between these two sides in the 2021/22 campaign, Benzema scored 5 five goals, while Aspas was a reliable presence all season for his side, ultimately helping them to a midtable finish and yet another year in Spain’s top flight.

Their impressive form and overall reliability in front of goal is why we think that the pair will be among the goals in this match.
