Inter Milan make the trip to the Renato Dall’Ara to take on Bologna this Saturday in the Serie A. Milan look to extend their lead at the top of the table whereas Bologna aim to keep a hold of their spot in the Champions League.
Simone Inzaghi's men have a healthy lead at the top of the table and will be looking to keep the likes of Juventus and AC Milan firmly in their dust. Bologna, however, are in the thick of the race for Champions League football, biting at the heels of AC Milan.
Bologna currently sit fourth in Serie A after 27 games. The Greyhounds have 14 wins, nine draws and four losses, leaving them on 51 points, five points from AC Milan in third and four points above Roma in fifth.
In terms of attack this season, The Greyhounds have faltered slightly. In 27 games, Bologna have scored 39 goals, giving them an average of 1.50 goals a game. However, at the other end of the pitch, Bologna have impressed, conceding 23 goals and keeping 11 clean sheets.
Inter Milan, on the other hand, currently sit top of the Serie A table. In 27 games, The Nerazzurri have 23 wins, three draws and just one loss which leaves them on 72 points,
15 points above Juventus and 16 points above AC Milan.
The Nerazzurri have dominated in front of goal this season. Not only have Inter scored the most goals this season, 69 goals with an average of 2.55 goals a game, Lautaro Martinez is also the Serie A top scorer with 23 goals. Inter have also been just as good defensively this season, conceding 13 goals and keeping 17 clean sheets.
Bologna and Inter Milan have met 50 times in their histories, the first meeting coming back in 1999. Inter have the far better record in the fixture with 30 wins in comparison to Bologna’s nine wins, the other 11 games ending in a draw.
In the last five meetings between the two sides, there have been one Inter Milan win, two Bologna wins and two draws. However, in four of the last five games, both sides have been on the scoresheet, with at least three goals a game.
