Ready for the Emilia Romagna Grand Prix 2025? Our F1 betting experts break down the key drivers, strategies, and data trends you need to make smarter bets for the 18th May race at Imola.
Last time out, we picked out Oscar Piastri to win the race at Miami, ahead of this weekend’s 2025 Emilia Romagna GP we’ll be looking to provide more winning tips. Here, we’ve taken a look at the best betting tips from Round seven of this year’s World Driver’s Championship.
Lando Norris will be keen to win at Imola having missed out on a race victory in the 2024 edition of this Grand Prix by just 0.725 seconds to Max Verstappen.
McLaren have won five of the first six races in this year’s F1 World Championship, with Norris winning one to Piastri’s four. The British driver has a good record at Emilia Romagna, as he also finished on the podium at the 2022 edition of this race.
At present, Norris sits second in the World Driver’s Championship with 115 points, having won one race and earned five podiums thus far.
Reigning four time world champion Max Verstappen has been priced up as third favourite to get pole position at Imola behind the two McLaren's, however, the Dutchman does have the most pole positions on the grid this season, having managed to do so in Japan, Saudi Arabia and Miami.
Although the Red Bull’s race pace has been inferior to its qualifying showing, there is a chance that with the Austrian constructors upcoming upgrades that it could get its fourth pole position of the season. Only Michael Schumacher (7), has more victories than Max Verstappen at this race circuit, so expect the Dutchman to be in contention for pole position.
As a constructor, Williams have come a long way under James Vowles, as last season, Williams scored 17 points as a whole, while this time around, they have already accumulated 37 points. This has been due to an improved car design, as well as the fact that they managed to pick-up former Ferrari driver Carlos Sainz to partner Alex Albon.
Last time out at Miami, Albon finished fifth, while Sainz crossed the line in ninth-place. Could they manage another double points finish here?
At present, McLaren’s Oscar Piastri sits at the top of the standings, as the Australian driver has accumulated 131 points, winning three times this season at China, Bahrain, Saudi Arabia and Miami, while his teammate, Lando Norris, is 16 points adrift as things stand.
The only other driver to win a race this season is Max Verstappen, with the Dutchman earning a sensational victory at Japan, while pushing Piastri close in Saudi Arabia, however, the Dutchman did finish fourth in Miami, seeing him sit 32 points behind Piastri.
