Next Leeds United Manager Odds

Leeds United Jesse Marsch has been sacked as manager of the Elland Road club following their 1-0 loss to Nottingham Forest at the weekend. The Whites' next Premier League match sees them take on Everton at Goodison Park, after managing a creditable 2-2 draw at Old Trafford against Manchester United last week with Michael Skubala as Caretaker Manager, before suffering a 2-0 loss to the Red Devils on Sunday.

Marsch was a popular figure at Elland Road despite his recent poor run of form as manager prior to his sacking, as the 49-year-old American managed to steer Leeds away from relegation last season, however, as previously mentioned his overall results across the board at the club were sub-standard, winning just 11 of his 37 matches in charge, equating to a 29.73% win percentage.

Michael Skubala Odds: 9/4

Leeds’ caretaker manager Michael Skubala is the favourite to take the role on a permanent basis (10 or more competitive matches), following two decent performances against Manchester United.

During these matches, Leeds drew 2-2 at Old Trafford against the Red Devils, while falling to an unfortunate 2-0 loss to their bitter rivals at Elland Road - however, they can take encouragement from their efforts.

The 40-year-old is also Leeds’ Under 21s manager and has been in this role since July 2022. Prior to this, Skubala also held coaching roles at clubs such as Coventry City and Nottingham Forest.

Skubala is priced at 9/4 to take the job at Elland Road - click on the link to claim this bet in your bet slip!

Nuno Espirito Santo Odds: 3/1

Former Wolves manager Nuno Espirito Santo is in contention for the managerial vacancy at Elland Road.

The Portuguese coach's last role in England was at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, where he was perhaps on the back foot from the start, with the Lilywhites expecting a world-class manager who was capable of coaching attractive football having previously had Mauricio Pochettino and Jose Mourinho at the helm.

Santo’s time at Spurs finished after just 17 matches, winning eight times. But, perhaps the Portuguese manager will be valued more on his successful time at Molineux with Wolves where he earned promotion from the Championship in the 2017/18 season, before guiding them to a seventh-place finish in their first Premier League campaign back, qualifying them for the Europa League.

At present, the 48-year-old currently manages Saudi Arabian side Al-Ittihad where he has seen his side win 12 and draw five of his 18 games in charge, as they sit top of the Saudi Pro League. Typically of his style, they have conceded just seven times, while scoring 23. Recently, Santo managed to lead his side to victory in the 2023 Saudi Super Cup.

Leeds are priced at 3/1 to appoint Nuno Espirito Santo.

Steven Gerrard Odds: 3/1

Steven Gerrard's odds have been slashed once again to become Leeds United's next manager.

Gerrard’s time at Villa finished badly, as the Villains won just two of their last 12 league fixtures under the Liverpool legends management, seeing him have a 32.5% win percentage following 13 wins and eight draws in 40 matches.

The 42-year-old will be keen to have another shot in the Premier League, especially after doing so well at Rangers, having won the Scottish Premiership at a canter, earning 102 points in the 2020/21 season, while conceding just 13 goals.

Gerrard is priced at 3/1 to fill the managerial vacancy at Elland Road.

Andoni Iraola Odds: 5/1

Rayo Vallecano manager Andoni Iraola is also in the frame for the vacancy at Leeds, having impressed so far in his managerial career.

The 40-year-old is an Athletic Bilbao legend from his playing days, however, his time as a manager first started out at Cypriot side AEK Larnaca in 2018/19 where he won the Cypriot Super Cup in his only season there.

Following on from this, Iraola joined Mirandes in the Spanish Segunda, leading them to the semi-finals of the Copa del Rey for the second time in their 92-year history before becoming Vallecano manager.

When Iraola took over at Vallecano, they were in the Spanish Segunda, leading them to promotion via the play-offs in his first season, the following campaign, he lead them to the semi-finals of the Copa del Rey. At present, Vallecano are fifth in La Liga with 32 points from 20 matches.

Iraola is priced at 5/1 to become Leeds’ next manager after Marsch.

Arne Slot Odds: 12/1

Feyenoord manager Arne Slot is the current bookmakers’ favourite for the vacancy at Leeds United.

At present, Slot’s Feyenoord side leads the way at the top of the Dutch Eredivisie following on from their impressive Europa Conference League run last season that saw them finish as runner-up to AS Roma.

Prior to his time at Feyenoord, Slot had managed AZ Alkmaar, further showcasing his managerial capabilities, winning 48 and drawing 19 of his 80 matches in charge, equating to a win percentage of 55%. At AZ, Slot averaged 2.11 points per game, the highest average of any coach in the club’s history.

Slot is priced at 12/1 to succeed Marsch as Leeds manager.

Alfred Schreuder Odds: 14/1

Former Ajax manager Alfred Schreuder is the favourite for the vacancy at Leeds United having reportedly been spotted at their 2-0 defeat to Manchester United on the weekend.

The 50-year-old was sacked as manager of Ajax on 26th January, with Johnny Heitinga taking over the Amsterdam club till the end of the season, after Schreuder won just 12 of his 26 matches in charge. This was a disappointing spell for the Dutchman, having overseen Club Brugge’s Belgian Pro League title win in the previous campaign following 15 wins and four draws in 21 matches.

Prior to his time at Club Brugge, Schreuder had also been manager at Hoffenheim during the 2019/20 season, winning 13 and drawing eight of his 33 games in charge before being sacked due to not meeting the club’s expectations, having stepped up as manager following Julian Nagelsmann’s departure to RB Leipzig.

Schreuder is priced at 14/1 to be Leeds United’s next manager.

Ange Postecoglou Odds: 25/1

Celtic manager Ange Postecoglou has been linked with the job at Leeds, as the Australian continues to impress at Parkhead.

The 57-year-old coach has been a revelation having managed to win the Scottish Premiership and Scottish League Cup in his first season in charge and currently sees his side lie nine points clear of Rangers after 25 matches this time around.

What would be promising for his chances too is his track record of developing players, such as Kyogo Furuhashi at Celtic and many more, while showing that he has good knowledge of players in obscure leagues.

Prior to his current role, he had several jobs having been manager at youth levels for the Australian national team, before becoming their manager between 2013 and 2017. He also managed to win the A-League Championship twice and Premiership once with Brisbane Roar between 2010 and 2012, as well as the J-League with Yokohama Marinos in 2019.

Postecoglou is priced at 25/1 to make the switch from Celtic Park to Elland Road.

Kjetil Knutsen Odds: 25/1

Bodo/Glimt manager Kjetil Knutsen is also on this list of managers who has been linked to the vacancy at Leeds United.

In recent years, Leeds have tended to think outside the box with their managerial appointments, perhaps Knutsen could be the latest manager to join the Elland Road club.

Knutsen’s name came to stardom when his side Bodo/Glit side thrashed AS Roma 6-1 in the Europa Conference league last season, before defeating the Serie A outfit 2-1 at the Stadio Olimpico. The 53-year-old has won Eliteserien manager of the year in each of the last three seasons and led his side to a league title in 2020 and 2021.

This could potentially be a smart move by Leeds due to the success that the Norwegian has found when developing players both in his homeland and in European competitions - a factor that could prove decisive with Leeds’ transfer strategies and the profile of their squad.

Knutsen is priced at 25/1 to move to Elland Road.

Marcelo Gallardo Odds: 33/1

Former River Plate manager Marcelo Gallardo is another managerial name that has been touted for the job, despite being yet to prove himself on the European stage. Could he follow Marcelo Bielsa's footsteps by becoming Leeds' manager?

Gallardo has had a successful managerial career back in his homeland of Argentina with River Plate, who he played for during his playing days.

The 46-year-old’s managerial career actually started at Nacional in Uruguay where he won the Primera Division in his first and only season in charge.

Gallardo’s next job would be at River Plate, where he would go down in the club’s history as an iconic figure, having won the Copa Sudamericana in his first year, before winning the Copa Libertadores in 2015 and 2018 on top of the 11 other major trophies.

Gallardo is priced at 33/1 to make the move to Elland Road.

Ralph Hasenhuttl Odds: 33/1

Recently sacked Southampton manager Ralph Hasenhuttl is also reportedly on Leeds’ shortlist to replace Marsch.

Hassenhuttl showed himself as a Premier League standard manager during his time at St Mary’s, having done well with a limited budget with the Saints, winning 59 and drawing 41 of his 173 matches.

Prior to his time at Southampton, Hasenhuttl managed to finish second with RB Leipzig in their debut Bundesliga season. The 55-year-old also won promotion to the Bundesliga with Ingolstadt in 2014/15 before consolidating their status in the top flight.

Hasenhuttl is priced at 33/1 to fill the vacancy at Leeds.

Marcelo Bielsa Odds: 33/1

Former Leeds United manager Marcelo Bielsa has been linked with a sensational return to the club.

The 67-year-old was a cult hero at Elland Road, having earned the Whites promotion from the Championship in the 2019/20 season via winning the division as a whole. He also managed to consolidate their position in the Premier League during the 2020/21 campaign but was sacked following a poor performance in the following season.

During his time at Leeds, Bielsa won 81 of his 170 matches in charge, leaving him with a win percentage of 47.6%. In his managerial career, he has managed several impressive clubs, such as America, Velez Sarsfield, Athletic Bilbao and Marseille, while also coaching Argentina’s and Chile’s national teams.

Bielsa is priced at 33/1 to make a shock return to Leeds.

Mauricio Pochettino Odds: 33/1

Mauricio Pochettino is priced at 22/1 to make a shock return to the Premier League with Leeds.

The 50-year-old was most recently manager of PSG and has missed out on a series of big jobs since his exit from the Parc des Princes.

Pochettino first entered English football when he managed Southampton between January 2013 and May 2014, taking over from Nigel Adkins, laying the foundations for the Saints to challenge for Europe on a regular basis, having developed the likes of Adam Lallana, Jay Rodriguez, Jose Fonte, Toby Alderweireld, Morgan Schneiderlin and more.

Since his time at St Mary’s Pochettino went on to manage Tottenham, where he elevated them from Europa League fodder to a side that regularly competed for Champions League football - notably reaching the Champions League final in 2019.

Following his time at Spurs, Pochettino returned to former club PSG, where he managed to win three trophies in two years, but, this and his lack of success in the Champions League saw patience wear thin between himself and the PSG hierarchy, resulting in his departure last summer.

Pochettino is priced at 33/1 to become Leeds’ next manager.

Carlos Corberan Odds: 40/1

West Bromwich Albion manager Carlos Corberan is in contention for the job at Elland Road.

39-year-old was Leeds United’s Under 23s manager between 2017 and 2020, as well as being promoted to First Team Coach under Marcelo Bielsa.

Since his time at Elland Road, Corberan has managed Huddersfield Town who he guided to the 2022 Championship play-off final in his second season in charge, before an unsuccessful 11-match stint as Olympiakos manager after leaving the Terriers due to dissatisfaction over their transfer dealings.

Since then, Corberan has impressed as West Brom's manager, winning 11 and drawing one of his 16 matches in charge, seeing the Baggies go from relegation candidates to play-off contenders.

Corberan is priced at 40/1 to be named as the next Leeds United manager

Matthias Jaissle Odds: 100/1

Current Red Bull Salzburg manager Matthias Jaissle is also on the shortlist of managers to replace Marsch having had a terrific start to his managerial career.

The 34-year-old German coached FC Liefering, RB Salzburg’s feeder team between January and June of 2021, winning 11 and drawing three of his 17 matches in charge, before being promoted to manager of RB Salzburg where so far he has won the Austrian Bundesliga and Austrian Cup in his only full campaign in charge to date. Staggeringly, he had a 64% win percentage at Liefering, while currently having a 68.92% win percentage at Salzburg.

Jaissle is priced at 100/1 to carry on Leeds’ recent Red Bull-related connection by becoming their next manager.
