Manchester United look set to be on search for a new manager following the club’s worst-ever start to a Premier League campaign, with Erik ten Hag’s men regressing by one point from last season’s poor start - United currently sit on just eight points from seven matches.
The Dutchman somehow survived as manager of the Red Devils in 2023/24, despite leading the Old Trafford club to their worst league finish in the Premier League era when they ended their campaign in 8th-place with 60 points.
INEOS’ decision to keep Ten Hag after United’s FA Cup victory in 2024 was received with a mixed reception from the United faithful and now looks to have backfired, especially after another hefty summer spending spree that saw the Red Devils spend around £200m on the likes of Leny Yoro, Manuel Ugarte, Matthijs de Ligt, Joshua Zirkzee and Noussair Mazraoui.
United enter the international break with six wins in their last 21 league matches, while in European competitions, the Old Trafford club have won just one of their last 10 fixtures.
At present, Ten Hag’s United record stands at 69 wins, 22 draws and 34 losses in 125 matches - equating to a win percentage of 55.2%.
