Mauricio Pochettino's Next Managerial Position Odds

Latest News

Mauricio Pochettino is yet to return to management since he was relieved of his duties at Tottenham in November of last year. With Pochettino being heavily linked with the managerial role at Manchester United and Barcelona, Sky Bet have decided to release odds for Pochettino’s next managerial position. If you would like to back any of the specials, we've provided links below each special that will take you to the relevant slip. Please note that if Pochettino has not managed a club by 1st August 2020, then “No Club or Country by 1st August 2020” will be the market winner and that the odds are correct as of 17/01/20.

Manchester United - 8/11

Even when Pochettino was in charge at Tottenham, he was heavily linked with replacing Ole Gunnar Solskjaer at Manchester United, so naturally according to the bookies, Manchester United is his likely next destination.

Manchester United - 8/11

Barcelona - 5/2

Barcelona’s decision to sack manager Ernesto Valverde was met with surprise by many as Barcelona found themselves top of La Liga and in the Champions League round of 16, with Valverde leading them to their 26th league title the previous season. However, Barcelona felt that the change was necessary and appointed Quique Setien as head coach. Pochettino was linked with the Barcelona job before Setien was appointed and the bookies believe that he will be the one to replace him at the end of the season.

Barcelona - 5/2

Real Madrid - 8/1

Another rumoured destination for Pochettino is Barcelona’s domestic rivals, Real Madrid. Pochettino’s link with Real Madrid came about when he was asked about his future at a launch event for La Liga TV in London, where he was asked where he could possibly manage in the future, to which he answered, “England and Spain are the two best leagues in the world.”

Real Madrid - 8/1

Bayern Munich - 10/1

When Bayern Munich decided to relieve head coach Niko Kovac of his duties back in November last year, Pochettino was one of the managers linked to being Kovac’s replacement at the Allianz Arena. Bayern opted to appoint assistant coach Hans-Dieter Flick as their interim manager, the decision to appoint Flick as an interim manager hints that Bayern are waiting until the end of the season to appoint a permanent manager, and considering that Pochettino has yet to return to management, that could be the job that he is waiting for.

Bayern Munich - 10/1

Manchester City - 12/1

Personally, given how heavily Pochettino is linked with other managerial positions, we can’t imagine that his next managerial will be at Manchester City. But given his comments about England and Spain having the best leagues in the world, it’s not out of the question that Pochettino could return to England and manage Manchester City, but that will depend if Pep Guardiola is still at Manchester City.

Manchester City - 12/1

No Club or Country by 1st August 2020 - 14/1
