Next Premier League Manager To Leave Odds

In December, Manuel Pellegrini became the 6th Premier League manager to lose their job this season, with Javi Garcia, Mauricio Pochettino, Unai Emery, Quique Sánchez Flores, Marco Silva. Odds have been released for the next Premier League managerial casualty and we’ve decided to go through them. Please note that the odds are correct as of 06/01/20 and are subject to change. If no manager leaves before kick off on the 17th of May 2020 then the “No Manager to leave” will be settled as the winner and the other selections will be settled as losers.

Dean Smith - 5/2

As it stands, the bookies’ favourite to face the axe next is Aston Villa manager Dean Smith. Villa currently find themselves just 1 point above the relegation zone, having only won 6 of their opening 21 Premier League games, including 5 defeats in their last 7 league games. Smith has had a successful time at Villa, leading the club to promotion from the Championship during the 18/19 season as well as reaching the League Cup semi-finals this season, but if he doesn’t improve Villa’s league form, he could be in trouble.

Eddie Howe - 5/2

Since taking over in October of 2012, Eddie Howe has completely transformed Bournemouth, taking the club from League 2 to the Premier League in 3 years. Despite establishing Bournemouth as a Premier League side, Bournemouth’s form this season is the reason for concern, as 5 wins from their opening 21 Premier League leaves them in the relegation zone. Bournemouth’s place in the relegation zone is a result of their poor run of form between November and December, where they lost 8 out of 10 Premier League games.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer - 4/1

Another Premier League manager who is under pressure is Manchester United boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer. Despite producing big results, such as wins over: Chelsea, Tottenham and Manchester City as well as qualifying for the Europa League round of 32 and the League Cup semi-finals, Manchester United’s issue this season has been their inconsistency, as their good results against the bigger clubs have been made meaningless considering their poor results against teams lower down the table, with defeats against: Bournemouth, West Ham, Crystal Palace, Watford and Newcastle damaging United’s hopes for a top 4 finish.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer slip

Daniel Farke - 6/1

It hasn’t been the best return to the Premier League for Norwich, as the Canaries currently sit at the bottom of the league and 7 points from safety. Norwich's opening 21 Premier League games haven’t given their fans much joy, as they have picked up 13 defeats, which is more than any other Premier League side, and only won 3 games, which is the lowest of any other Premier League side. Norwich’s poor form this season and current position had lead to Sky Bet placing a 6/1 price on Daniel Farke becoming the next Premier League manager to face the axe.

No Manager to leave - 12/1

If you believe that there will be no further Premier League managerial casualties this season (before kick off on the 17th of May 2020), Sky Bet are offering a 12/1 price on that being the case.
