Outright Tips & Latest Odds for the 2025 Club World Cup

The club season is over, so now all eyes turn to the upcoming FIFA Club World Cup, where a total prize pot of $1 billion is on offer to the participating teams, with $125 million for the winner.

The 2025 Club World Cup has a unique feel to the tournament this summer, with FIFA opting to expand the competition to 32 teams and make it a four-year tournament similar to the existing national competitions. The competition will be held in the United States, a year prior to the country hosting the FIFA World Cup, with 63 matches played across 12 venues nationwide.

The majority of teams qualified based on performance in their respective confederation's club championships.

Below, we have compiled some outright tips for the competition and provided our own selection of who we think will win the 2025 Club World Cup.

Club World Cup Outright Tips - PSG

The upcoming FIFA World Cup features many teams that can certainly make a strong case to be the eventual winners of this competition. Teams such as Chelsea and Juventus can be considered perennial outsiders for the tournament. Meanwhile, teams such as Urawa Reds and Wydad AC are expected to be eliminated in the group stages.

Our pick to go all the way in this competition are recent UEFA Champions League winners, Paris Saint-Germain.

Paris Saint-Germain are expected to be one of the frontrunners for this competition, given how comprehensively they beat Inter Milan in the UEFA Champions League final. Le Parisiens were excellent throughout their entire season domestically, securing the Ligue 1 title and the Coupe de France with ease. The illustrious Champions League had always eluded the French side, but his season they were simply superb.

PSG beat the likes of Aston Villa, Arsenal and Premier League champions, Liverpool, en route to the final. Luis Enrique's side then produced arguably the best performance in a European final, disposing of their Italian counterparts, Inter Milan, in a 5-0 demolition job.

Luis Enrique's side will be confident heading into this tournament, given the players at his disposal and their performances this season. The midfield trio of João Neves, Fabian and especially Vitinha will be key for the latter stages of the tournament, as Warren Zaire-Emery could be used in the group stages, considering the relative ease of their group, as only Atletico Madrid are expected to give them a difficult game.

Ousmane Dembele is the standout player for PSG in this competition. Dembele, who is the favourite for the coveted Ballon d'Or, has had a sensational season for the European Champions. Ousmane Dembele produced 39 goal contributions across Ligue 1 and the UEFA Champions League last season.

Real Madrid

Real Madrid will be an interesting prospect this summer, with Xabi Alonso set to take charge of the club he once called home as a player. Alonso comes with a managerial pedigree, having won the Bundesliga with Bayer Leverkusen for the first time in their history.

Los Blancos have been handed a relatively straightforward group consisting of Pachuca, RB Salzburg and Al-Hilal, so progression should be the bare minimum for Real Madrid. Xabi Alonso's side are the record holders in this competition, and their route could see them face Juventus in the round of 16 and Borussia Dortmund in the quarter-finals. So, expect Real Madrid to at least reach the final four of the competition.

One player to watch is recent acquisition Trent Alexander-Arnold. The 26-year-old was the subject of a long-running contract saga between him, Liverpool and Real Madrid, before he opted to ply his trade at the Santiago Bernabeu from now on. Alexander-Arnold will undoubtedly provide a fresh creative outlet for Xabi Alonso's Real Madrid side.

Manchester City

Manchester City suffered a poor season by their standards, ending the campaign without a trophy for the first time under Pep Guardiola since 2017. However, the Citizens will still be one of the outright favourites for this competition, having won the competition in the four-team format back in 2023.

Pep Guardiola's side are expected to face either RB Salzburg or Al-Hilal in the round of 16, should they get through a group consisting of Juventus, Wydad AC and Al-Ain. Their route to the final could consist of playing either Inter Milan or Borussia Dortmund in the semi-final, with a final tie against European Champions, PSG, potentially on the cards.

One player who could make the difference despite his performances this season is Phil Foden. Foden suffered last season due to injuries and performances. However, with Kevin de Bruyne's departure, the spotlight will be on Foden to deliver similar performances to his 2023/24 campaign.

Bayern Munich

Bayern Munich are another contender to become World Champions during the summer, with Vincent Kompany looking to add another piece of silverware during his reign. The former Burnley manager secured his first top-flight league title as a manager last season, when he guided Bayern Munich to reclaim their Bundesliga title from Bayer Leverkusen.

Bayern Munich have been drawn into a group with Auckland City, Boca Juniors, and Benfica, with the Portuguese outfit the only side expected to pose any issues for Bayern Munich when they meet. The Bavarians could face Atletico Madrid in the quarter-finals of the competition, with the winner potentially lining up Vincent Kompany with a reunion with Pep Guardiola.

The Bavarians will look towards the creative style of Michael Olise in this competition. Michael Olise has enjoyed a terrific debut season for Bayern Munich after arriving last summer from Crystal Palace. Olise provided 12 goals and 15 assists for the title-winning Bayern Munich side, whilst creating 13 big chances.

Inter Miami

Inter Miami's inclusion in this competition certainly created some controversy, given that other teams have had better performance historically in their respective confederations' club championships.

However, this could potentially work in their favour, given the home-field advantage Inter Miami are bound to have in this competition. Odds of 66/1 suggest that it will be unlikely that Inter Miami will win this competition, and given the tournament format, the expectation is that they reach the round of 16. Inter Miami are in Group A with FC Porto, Al-Ahly, and Palmeiras. Should they qualify, they will face one of Atletico Madrid or European Champions, PSG, which is where their tournament is likely to end.

No doubt Lionel Messi will want to showcase his abilities and add to his legacy on this big stage. Messi has been ever-present once again for Inter Miami this season, with 15 goal contributions in the MLS this campaign.
