Matheus Cunha looks like he could be on his way out of Atletico Madrid as the Spanish La Liga outfit are looking to make more room financially to make more additions to their squad for the 2022/23 season.

Cunha was part of Atletico’s matchday squad for their 3-0 victory against Getafe, however, it must be stated that due to Alvaro Morata’s collapsed move back to Juventus, they now have five attackers on their books, with Antoine Griezmann, Joao Felix and Angel Correa all plying their trades at the Wanda Metropolitano.

Cunha is reportedly a valued member of Diego Simeone’s side, due to his high work rates and versatility, allowing the Argentinian coach to switch his side up mid-game.

The 23-year-old former RB Leipzig man made 29 appearances in La Liga for Atletico last season, scoring six and creating six from various different positions on the pitch.

Reports have recently linked Manchester United with a move for Cunha, with the Old Trafford club exploring options to help add cover to their thin squad.
