Brentford vs Ipswich Prediction

Brentford’s home form should be considerably strong enough to secure the victory over an Ipswich Town side, still chasing their first win of the season since their return to the Premier League.

Brentford's home form gives them a favourable advantage when it comes to this game, having won three of their four home games at the GTECH Community Stadium in the league this season. Brentford are unbeaten in the last three meetings against Ipswich Town, with the Tractor Boys failing to keep a clean sheet in those three games also.

Brentford have been excellent in the first half of fixtures, having led in four of the last five at the interval - including leading against Manchester United after the first 45 minutes. Brentford have scored first in this fixture in five of the previous seven meetings between the two teams. Ipswich are still chasing their first win since their return to the Premier League and Kieran McKenna's side have an unfortunate record of no wins in their last nine in all competitions.

We predict the run of Brentford’s home form to continue here against Ipswich Town in a 3-1 win for the Bees.

Brentford 3-1 Ipswich Town

Brentford vs Ipswich Preview & Prediction

Brentford’s home form will be a massive test for an Ipswich Town side who are winless in the Premier League season. This game pits an exciting clash of styles implemented by Thomas Frank and Kieran McKenna.

Date: 26/10/2024

Location: GTECH Community Stadium

Kick-Off: 3 pm

Brentford’s form this season has showcased their strengths and weaknesses this season, and they will be buoyed by the fact that this fixture is played on home soil. Thomas Frank has established the Bees as a formidable Premier League side led by the likes of Bryan Mbuemo and Yoan Wissa, who have led the line since the departure of Ivan Toney. Brentford are currently in 13th place in the Premier League, having won three, drawn once and lost four from eight games. A win for Brentford would move the Bees into the top half of the table; however, that would require results elsewhere to fall in their favour.

Ipswich Town have found life difficult since their return to the Premier League. As mentioned, the Tractor Boys are winless, having collected four points from eight games. In fairness to Kieran McKenna and his Ipswich Town side, they began the season with arguably two of the toughest fixtures you could face in Liverpool (Home) and Manchester City (Away). Ipswich Town have performed admirably against the likes of Aston Villa and Brighton. Ipswich Town could find themselves in the relegation zone by the weekend, should Crystal Palace get any form of a result against Nottingham Forest.

This will be the first meeting between the two sides in the Premier League, with this being primarily an EFL fixture in the last five years. Ollie Watkins and Nail Maupay were on hand to provide the Bees the victory the last time these two teams met.

Where to watch

The game will not be available in the UK because of the 3 pm blackout.

Brentford Predicted Lineup: Flekken, van den Berg, Collins, Pinnock, Ajer, Norgaard, Janelt, Mbuemo, Damsgaard, Lewis - Potter, Wissa.

Form Guide

As mentioned, this fixture will be the first to take place in the Premier League. Brentford has the advantage regarding recent fixtures between the two sides, having remained unbeaten in their last three meetings with Ipswich Town. The Tractor Boys have failed to keep a clean sheet in their previous three against Brentford, conceding first in this fixture in five of the last seven. Ipswich Town have only won once in their previous five visits to Brentford, with the Bees winning three of the last five home meetings against the Tractor Boys.

Brentford’s home form is excellent, and Thomas Frank’s side have the second-best home record in the Premier League, only trailing Arsenal in that statistic because of goal difference. The hosts have won three of their four home games this season and have only drawn once in a London derby against West Ham United. Brentford are frequent scorers at home with 2.75 goals scored on average across four games - including five against Wolverhampton Wanderers.

Ipswich are winless in their last eight games in the Premier League and across nine in all competitions since they were knocked out of the EFL Cup by AFC Wimbledon. Interestingly, Ipswich Town have maintained a longer unbeatable streak than Brentford have managed to obtain this season, with four consecutive Premier League games without defeat. However, the Tractor Boys have now lost their last two successive Premier League games - conceding an average of three goals in their last two games.

In their last away game, Ipswich Town were humbled at the hands of West Ham United. Liam Delap cancelled out Michail Antonio’s early effort in the 8th minute. However, that’s where the highlights end for the Tractor Boys. Mohamed Kudus, Jarrod Bowen and Lucas Paqueta piled on more misery for Kieran McKenna’s men.
