Brentford vs Liverpool: Betting Tips, Match Prediction & Preview

Brentford host Liverpool in the early kick-off this Saturday in the Premier League. Liverpool look to extend their lead at the top of the league in what will be Jurgen Klopp's final season as manager of the Reds whereas Brentford look to the top half of the table.

These odds are correct at the time of publication and are subject to change.

The Bees look to take three points from top of the table Liverpool this Saturday as they look to get back into the top half of the table. Liverpool, on the other hand, look to put even more space between them and their challengers.

Brentford currently sit 14th in the Premier League after 23 games. The Bees have seven wins, four draws and 12 losses, leaving them on 25 points, seven points from Wolves in tenth.

The Bees have overperformed their current league placement in front of goal, scoring 34 goals, with an average of 1.48 goals a game. At the other end of the pitch, Brentford have conceded 39 goals and have kept just four clean sheets.

Liverpool, on the other hand, currently sit top of the Premier League. In 24 games, Liverpool have 16 wins, six draws and two losses which leaves them on 54 points, just two points above both Manchester City and Arsenal.

The Reds have been on fire in front of goal this season, scoring 55 goals in 24 games, giving Liverpool an average of 2.29 goals a game. Liverpool have been just as solid defensively, conceding just 23 goals and keeping eight clean sheets.

Brentford and Liverpool have met just 20 times in their histories despite the first meeting coming all the way back in 1906. Liverpool have the better record in the fixture with 12 wins in comparison to Brentford’s four wins, the other four games ending in a draw.

Since Brentford returned to the top flight, there have been six meetings, with Brentford winning just once. But, this fixture has been high-scoring with over three goals in five of the six games.

          Form Guide (Last Five Games)

In their last five games in all competitions, Brentford have two wins and three losses.

In the FA Cup Third Round Replays, Brentford took on fellow Premier League side Wolves again. Nathan Collins opened the scoring in the 13th minute but Nelson Semedo equalised for Wolves before halftime. Neal Maupay regained the lead for Brentford but a goal from Nathan Freaser took it to extra time where a penalty from Matheus Cunha gave Wolves the 3 - 2 win.

Back in the Premier League, Brentford hosted Nottingham Forest. Danilo gave Forest the early lead in the third minute but a goal from Ivan Toney levelled it before halftime. Ben Mee then gave Brentford the lead, but Chris Wood equalised within seven minutes. However, a goal from Maupay gave The Bees the 3 - 2 win.

It was yet another 3 - 2 scoreline against Tottenham. Maupay gave Brentford the 1- 0 lead at halftime, but within the first ten minutes of the second half, Destin Udogie, Brennan Johnson and Richarlison all scored to give Tottenham the 3 - 1 lead. Toney did grab a goal, but Spurs held on for the 3 - 2 win.

Maupay opened the scoring yet again, this time in the first half against Manchester City. However, a hat-trick from Phil Foden grabbed a 3 - 1 win for City.

The last time out for Brentford was another clash against Wolves. Christian Norgaard and Toney both scored in the 2 - 0 win for Brentford, despite having just 28% of the possession.

In their last five games in all competitions, Liverpool have three wins, one draw and one loss.

The second leg of the League Cup Semi-final saw Liverpool travel to Craven Cottage to take on Fulham. Luis Diaz gave Liverpool the early lead, but a late goal from Issa Diop forced the 1 - 1 draw, Liverpool still taking home a 3 - 2 aggregate win.

In the Fourth Round of the FA Cup, Liverpool hosted Championship Norwich. Curtis Jones opened the scoring for Liverpool but Ben Gibson equalised within six minutes. Darwin Nunez, Diogo Jota and Virgil van Dijk all scored to give Liverpool the 4 - 1 lead. Borja Sainz grabbed a goal for Norwich but a late goal from Ryan Gravenberch gave Liverpool the 5 - 2 win.

Back in the Premier League, Liverpool hosted a struggling Chelsea. Christopher Nkunku grabbed a consolation goal for Chelsea as Jota, Bradley, Szoboszlai and Diaz all scored in the 4 - 1 win for Liverpool.

The one loss came in an important game at the top of the table. Bukayo Saka gave Arsenal the early lead but an own goal from Gabriel Magalhaes levelled it before halftime. Gabriel Martinelli regained the lead for Arsenal and following the red card to Konate, Leandro Trossard secured the 3 - 1 win for Arsenal.

The most recent outing for Liverpool was against Burnley. Jota opened the scoring for Liverpool but Dara O’Shea equalised just on the stroke of halftime. However, Diaz and Nunez both scored in the second half to give Liverpool the 3 - 1 win.
