      Chelsea vs Fulham Prediction

A West London derby takes place on Boxing Day, and the contest is expected to be a close affair with two sides having brilliant seasons respectively.

Chelsea are in excellent form heading into this game, as the Blues are unbeaten in their last 12 games in all competitions, as they take on a Fulham side who are unbeaten in five, but winless in their last three - following their 0-0 draw with Southampton. Since the opening-day defeat against Manchester City, the hosts are unbeaten at Stamford Bridge.

This will bode well with their record against Fulham since the Blues have not lost to their West London counterparts at home since 1979. Chelsea have won the last three meetings against Fulham without conceding, as the Blues have scored first in eight of the last ten meetings between the two teams.

That said, we are leaning towards a Chelsea win in this game. The Blues' record at Stamford Bridge will provide just enough home advantage.

      Chelsea 2-0 Fulham

Chelsea vs Fulham Preview & Prediction

The Christmas calendar has served us a festive treat in the form of a West London derby as Chelsea take on Fulham at Stamford Bridge.

      Date: 26/12/2024
      Location: Stamford Bridge, London.
      Kick-Off: 3 pm

Enzo Maresca’s Chelsea side has been one of the surprise packages this season, compared to where many people had placed the West London outfit. Despite the dampening of ambitions, Chelsea are on the outskirts of a title race; however, with the strong position, the Blues will likely have to settle for a top-four finish this season. Chelsea are in second place in the Premier League, having only lost twice this season, and they are currently four points behind league leaders Liverpool, who have a game in hand. Chelsea will retain their position in the Premier League with a win, but a loss for the Blues could allow Arsenal the opportunity to capitalise and move ahead.

Fulham are enjoying another fine season in the Premier League this season, as Marco Silva’s side are occupying a top-ten position in the Premier League, with notable results against Arsenal (1-1) and Liverpool (2-2). Fulham are ninth as it stands, with a win potentially moving them up to sixth place. However, his would require results elsewhere to fall in their favour.

Joachim Andersen, Reiss Nelson and Sander Berge are all expected to be unavailable.

      Form Guide

Chelsea’s overall record against Fulham is rather excellent as the hosts have won the last three meetings without conceding, scoring first in eight of the last ten between the two sides. Chelsea have such an impressive record against Fulham, to the point where the visitors have not beaten Chelsea at Stamford Bridge in league format since 1979, and the Blues have won three of the last five meetings, remaining unbeaten. In this fixture, less than 2.5 goals have been scored in six of the last seven meetings, with over 4.5 cards brandished in this fixture.

Chelsea are in excellent form heading into this game, as the Blues are unbeaten in their last 12 games in all competitions. Since the defeat to Liverpool at Anfield, Chelsea have been nothing short of spectacular in the Premier League, with six wins from their last nine league games, taking 21 points from their last 27 on offer, as Enzo Maresca’s side sit second in the Premier League. Chelsea comes into this game following a 0-0 draw with Everton, which they largely dominated.

Chelsea has been brilliant at home, having only lost once at Stamford Bridge all season, the opening-day defeat against Manchester City. Since that defeat, Chelsea has won four of their seven home league games, drawn three, and picked up 15 points from their last 21 points. Chelsea has also won three of their last five home games in the Premier League, with consecutive wins against Brentford (2-1) and Aston Villa (3-0).

Fulham are in excellent form, as the Cottagers are unbeaten in their previous five games, although context needs to be provided with their form. The visitors have drawn four of their last five and are now winless in their previous three league games following their 0-0 draw with Southampton.

Away from home, Fulham have a relatively average away record this season; despite only losing twice, the Cottagers have drawn 50% of their eight away league games this season. Fulham fell foul of the disciplinary records on their travels after receiving a dismissal on their away trip to Tottenham Hotspur. Fulham have drawn three of their last five away games in the Premier League, and most recently, they drew 2-2 with Liverpool.
