          Everton vs Newcastle Prediction

For this fixture, we expect a tough game between two sides who have found scoring past each other relatively easy in recent meetings.

Everton's win over Crystal Palace has shed some positive light on Everton's season, as the Toffees were without a win in the Premier League until last weekend. The Toffees are unbeaten in their previous three, although the hosts have not kept a clean sheet in their last five.

Newcastle United are without a clean sheet in their previous six and have two wins in their last four in the Premier League - with their recent away fixture resulting in a 3-1 loss to Fulham.

Both teams have scored in both team's previous five fixtures. Newcastle are without a clean sheet in their last three against Everton. The recent meetings between the two teams are evenly split, with two wins each and a draw. Although, Everton have won two of the previous three meetings at Goodison Park.

That being said, we are going for a 1-1 draw. Everton have shown great resolve recently and will be buoyed by their recent victory over Crystal Palace. Newcastle United will provide a stern test, so a draw is apt for this fixture.

          Everton 1-1 Newcastle United.

Everton vs Newcastle Preview & Prediction

The final Premier League fixtures before the International break takes place this weekend as the table begins to take shape. Rejuvenated from their first win of the season, Everton hosts a Newcastle United side aiming for a European place this season.

          Date: 05/10/2024
          Location: Goodison Park
          Kick-Off: 5.30 pm

Evertton’s early season troubles could be placed in the rearview mirror following their first win of the season against Crystal Palace. Everton’s fortunes off the field could be on an upward trajectory with their recent news of a club takeover. Sean Dyche’s side are now 16th in the Premier League, after last weekend - one point clear of the relegation zone. Everton has scored seven goals this season and conceded 15 - however, the return of Jarrad Branthwaite could aid Everton’s defensive woes.

Newcastle United will be aiming for European qualification once again this season, and Eddie Howe’s side will only have the domestic competitions to focus on which served them well in their last quest for Europe. The Magpies are seventh in the league this season, and a win for the away side could potentially move the side into the top four.

The last meeting at Goodison Park resulted in a 3-0 win for the Toffees thanks to goals from Beto, Dwight McNeil and Abdoulaye Doucoure.

          Where to watch

          Form Guide

The recent history between the two sides, is evenly split, with both sides recording two wins over each other over five games with the remaining game ending in a draw. Last season, Everton were the superior side in this fixture with four points from six gained, including the 3-0 win over Newcastle United at Goodison Park. Two seasons ago, Newcastle United secured a league double over the Toffees, and there has only been one sending-off in the last five meetings.

The Toffees are unbeaten in their previous three, following their victory over Crystal Palace. One win and two draws for Everton in context is good on paper, although in some of the more recent games, Everton had let leads slip, including two consecutive 3-2 defeats to Bournemouth and Aston Villa. In their recent league fixture, Everton showed great resilience in beating Crystal Palace, with a Dwight McNeil brace overshadowing Marc Guehi’s opener for the Eagles.

Newcastle United are without a clean sheet in their previous six and have two wins in their last four in the Premier League - with their recent away fixture resulting in a 3-1 loss to Fulham. The Magpies are in impressive form regardless, having won four of their first opening five Premier League games, although they are winless in their two previous games. Newcastle United have won two of their previous five away fixtures, including pre-season.

In their most recent league fixture, Newcastle United performed tremendously against Manchester City, and the Magpies held the champions to a 1-1 draw. Josip Gvardiol had given the Citizens the lead before half-time. Anthony Gordon was fouled and duly dispatched the resulting penalty past Ederson in the 58th minute.
