Fulham vs Aston Villa: Betting Tips, Match Prediction & Preview

Fulham welcome Aston Villa to Craven Cottage this Saturday in the Premier League. Aston Villa will be looking to get back into the Champions League spots whereas Fulham look to re-enter the top half of the Premier League table.

These odds are correct at the time of publication and are subject to change.

A poor run of form has seen Aston Villa drop out of the top four, needing a three-point haul to get back in touch with Tottenham. Fulham have also slipped back into the bottom half of the table, but are still within touching distance of the top half.

Fulham currently sit 12th in the Premier League after 24 games. The Cottagers have eight wins, five draws and 11 losses, leaving them on 29 points, just three points from tenth place Wolves.

The Cottagers have been middle of the road in front of goal with 33 goals in 24 games, giving them an average of 1.38 goals a game. At the other end of the pitch, Fulham have impressed. In 24 games, Fulham have conceded just 39 goals and have kept six clean sheets.

Aston Villa, on the other hand, currently sit fifth in the Premier League. In 24 games, Villa have 14 wins, four draws and six losses which leaves them on 46 points, just one point from Tottenham in fourth but six points from Arsenal in third.

Villa have been a little more busy in front of goal, scoring 49 goals in 24 games and having an average of 2.13 goals a game. Defensively, Villa have excelled, conceding just 31 goals and keeping six clean sheets.

Fulham and Aston Villa have met 75 times in their histories, with the first meeting coming back in 1905. Not much separates the two sides, with Villa having 27 wins and Fulham having 26 wins, the other 22 games ending in a draw.

Villa have dominated this fixture lately, winning four of the last five meetings. The fixture has become somewhat high-scoring, with only one game in the last five having under three goals, the 1 - 0 for Villa in April.

          Recent Form (Last 5 Games)

In their last five games in all competitions, Fulham have one win, three draws and one loss.

In the second leg of the League Cup Semi-final, Fulham hosted Liverpool. Liverpool already had a 2 - 1 lead on aggregate and took an early lead on the night through Luis Diaz, scoring in the 11th minute. Diop did score late on to rescue the draw on the night, but Liverpool won 3 - 2 on aggregate.

The Fourth Round of the FA Cup wasn’t much more memorable for Fulham as they took on Newcastle. Sean Longstaff scored late in the first half and Dan Burn grabbed a goal in the second half to give Newcastle the 2 - 0 win and the spot in the next round.

Back in the Premier League, Fulham faced Everton. Despite having 70% of the possession and 25 shots with six on target, Fulham couldn’t convert any of them and had to settle for the 0 - 0 draw.

Another draw came the next time out against Burnley for Fulham. Joao Palhinha and Rodrigo Muniz both scored in the first half to give Fulham the 2 - 0 lead at halftime. However, in the second half, Datro Fofana grabbed a late brace to give Burnley the 2 - 2 draw.

The last time out for Fulham was against Bournemouth. Bobby De Cordova-Reid and Munoz both scored in the first half to give Fulham another 2 - 0 lead at halftime. Marcos Senesi brought Bournemouth into the game just five minutes into the second half but Muniz’s second goal just two minutes later secured the 3 - 1 win for Fulham.

In their last five games in all competitions, Aston Villa have one win, one draw and three losses.

The Fourth Round of the FA Cup saw Aston Villa make the trip to Stamford Bridge to take on Chelsea. There were only nine shots on target in the entire game, with neither team able to convert any of them as the game finished 0 - 0, forcing a replay.

Back in the Premier League, Aston Villa hosted Newcastle. A quickfire brace from the unlikely source of Fabian Schar gave Newcastle a 2 - 0 lead at halftime. An own goal from Alex Moreno added another for The Magpies and despite a late goal from Ollie Watkins, Villa slumped to a 3 - 1 loss.

Aston Villa bounced back against a struggling Sheffield United. John McGinn, Watkins, Leon Bailey, Youri Tielemans and Moreno all scored in the 5 - 0 thrashing of Sheffield United.

The Replay of the FA Cup Fourth Round clash against Chelsea saw an early goal from Conor Gallagher, with Nicolas Jackson doubling Chelsea’s lead before half time. Enzo Fernandez added a third and even with a late consolation goal from Moussa Diaby, Chelsea held on for the 3 - 1 win.

The most recent outing for Villa was against Manchester United. Rasmus Hojlund opened the scoring for United, giving them the 1 - 0 lead at half time. Douglas Luiz drew Villa level in the second half but an 86th-minute goal from Scott McTominay gave United the 2 - 1 win.
