Pep Guardiola's reign at Manchester City reached its end last season, as the former Bayern Munich and Barcelona manager called time on his time at the Etihad Stadium following the most successful period in the club's history.

Similarly to Sir Alex Ferguson and Arsene Wenger, the adjustment period for Manchester City will be difficult under new manager Enzo Maresca. The Citizens ran Arsenal close in the title race last season, finishing seven points behind the Gunners and that was in large part to Manchester City dropping points at the likes of Everton and Bournemouth late on in the season. Enzo Maresca has Premier League experience with his time at Chelsea and should find the transition into Manchester City relatively straightforward.

Whilst Erling Haaland is bound to be key to any successes that Manchester City have this season, however, with his performance at the World Cup, which saw him earn the Golden Ball, Rodri has become extremely important for the Citizens. Rodri had struggled with injuries last season but the starring role he played at the World Cup proved how integral he is for club and country.

New record signing Eliott Anderson will be eager to prove his money's worth, whilst the likes of Phil Foden, in particular, will be hoping to improve his performances from the previous campaign.

Tottenham Hotspur have had their two worst Premier League campaigns in the space of two seasons, despite the first season's Europa League success under Ange Postecoglou. A wild array of managers, from Thomas Frank to the disastrous spell under Igor Tudor, left Spurs fighting on the final day of last season, avoiding relegation at the expense of West Ham United.

Roberto de Zerbi was brought in to steady the ship, and the former Brighton & Hove Albion manager just about managed the Lilywhites over the line. Spurs have wasted little to no time in bolstering their ranks by signing Sandro Tonali and Mateus Fernandes in midfield, whilst utilising the free agent market to bring in experience in Marco Senesi and Andrew Robertson. Tottenham Hotspur will also be welcoming the likes of Mohammed Kudus, James Maddison and Dejan Kulusevski back into the fold, who were sorely missed last season.

De Zerbi has shown with Brighton in the past that his teams can play expansive football, which aligns with the philosophy of a traditional Tottenham side. Spurs have no European football next season, which benefited Manchester United last season, so Spurs have no extra distractions in their pursuit of European football.

Marco Silva established Fulham as a solid Premier League side and with the departure of the Portuguese manager to Benfica this summer, there is a sense of uncertainty at Craven Cottage.

The appointment of Álvaro Arbeloa is seen as a bit of a potential risk, considering his time at Real Madrid wasn't exactly a stellar spell for the former Liverpool right-back. However, in context, Real Madrid invites a different variety of pressure than that at Craven Cottage. Arbeloa's lack of experience in the Premier League, accompanied by Fulham's reluctance to spend the money in the transfer market, could see them drawn into a potential relegation battle, although in likelihood, the Cottagers will be competing against the three promoted sides.

Fulham have not only lost Marco Silva, but further departures of key prominent figures in Raul Jimenez (Wolves) and Harry Wilson (Leeds) will likely have a huge impact if the appropiate replacements are not brought in.
