Premier League Unbeaten Season Odds

Premier League Unbeaten Season Odds

In the Premier League era, there have been many world-class playing squads and managers come and go, however, the feat of going a whole league campaign unbeaten has only ever been achieved once, by Arsenal’s 2003/04 squad under the management of Arsène Wenger - otherwise nicknamed as The Invincibles.

The Invincibles went 49 Premier League matches without defeat, however, despite being the only side to go a whole individual league campaign unbeaten, there have been sides that have gone on unbeaten streaks that have stretched longer than the current 38 game format, such as Liverpool’s 44 match unbeaten run between 12th January 2019 and 24th February 2020 and Chelsea’s 40-game unbeaten from 23rd October 2004 until 29th October 2005.

Which Premier League Sides Can Achieve an Unbeaten Season in 2024/25?

Arsenal and Manchester City are the only remaining unbeaten teams in the 2024/25 Premier League season and interestingly, the Gunners and Sky Blues have already met this campaign - playing out a 2-2 draw at the Etihad Stadium on 22nd September, with John Stones’ 98th-minute goal for City keeping Pep Guardiola’s men within a chance of completing an unbeaten league campaign.

Arsenal

Could history repeat itself for Arsenal? Mikel Arteta’s side have shown that they are a tough side to beat, having suffered just one league defeat since the turn of the year, with that sole loss coming against Aston Villa on 14th April. On top of this, the Gunners have a solid defensive unit as they’ve conceded just 35 times since the start of the 2023/24 season.

Something to potentially note is that as previously mentioned, Arsenal have already been to the Etihad Stadium, which is arguably the toughest ground to visit and get a result at in the Premier League.

Manchester City

When discussing Manchester City, it feels as though an unbeaten season is one of the only accolades left for them to achieve along with the quadruple due to their trophy-laden period under Guardiola.

City’s last league defeat came against Aston Villa on 6th December 2023 (30 matches ago) while the closest they have come to an unbeaten Premier League campaign to date was in the 2017/18 season when they suffered just two defeats; and became the first side in English top-flight history to accumulate 100 points - earning the nickname ‘The Centurions’.
