Super 6 Predictions Round 38

Super 6 Predictions

Manchester City 3-2 Newcastle United

Despite their recent defeat to Real Madrid, we expect Manchester City to emerge victorious here as they are facing a Newcastle side that haven't won at the Etihad Stadium since a League Cup tie back in October 2014. The Magpies last league victory in the blue half of Manchester was all the way back in September 2000.

Pep Guardiola’s men have only suffered two league defeats at the Etihad Stadium this campaign, despite their woes, seeing them pick up 23 points from 11 matches, scoring 24 times while conceding 15. We expect the Both Teams to Score market to land here due to the Cityzens offensive and defensive records, on top of the fact that Newcastle average just shy of two goals per game on the road, with 22 in 12 games.

Aston Villa 3-1 Ipswich Town

Aston Villa enter this weekend’s home clash with Ipswich Town as firm favourites, as they are 21 points clear of the Tractor Boys.

Something to note is that Ipswich have the fourth-worst home record in the Premier League, having accumulated just nine points from 11 matches, while Aston Villa’s home record is the fifth-best in the division, with 23 points from 12 games.

The last meeting between these two sides resulted in a 2-2 draw, we predict that the Both Teams to Score market will repeat itself here, however, with Villa to win the match.

Fulham 1-1 Nottingham Forest

Barring the recent hiccup at Bournemouth, Forest have been strong away from home, winning four of their last five league games on the road. Fulham, by contrast, are winless in their last five league games on home soil.

The Cottagers, though, are a bit of a bogey team for Forest, winning four of the last five head-to-head meetings between the two sides, including a 1-0 win earlier in the season. We do, then, fancy this one to end all square.

Crystal Palace 1-2 Everton

Everton will be confident of getting a result against Crystal Palace, having not lost to the Eagles since March 2022, meaning that the Toffees are on an eight game unbeaten run in this fixture.

Palace are in decent form though, so expect them to find the back of the net, as they have done in each of their last five outings (nine goals in their last five games). Everton are also in good form in front of goal, as Moyes’ side have fired in 10 goals in their last four league games.

Liverpool 2-0 Wolverhampton Wanderers

Liverpool enters this game as firm favourites against Wolverhampton Wanderers as they sit 38 points ahead of the visitors, while their home record is impressive, having won eight, drawn two and lost just one of their 11 Premier League matches at Anfield this campaign.

On top of their already favourable statistics, Liverpool have won all of the last four head-to-head meetings between these two sides. Wolves also have a poor away record in the Premier League this campaign, having won two, drawn three and lost seven of their 12 matches away from Molineux, scoring 18 while conceding 28, meaning that they have the second-worst away defence in the division.

Arne Slot’s side averages just over two goals per game (24 goals in 11 matches) at Anfield and just under one goal conceded per game (0.8 goals conceded per game), a trend which we believe will continue.

Tottenham Hotspur 1-2 Manchester United

Despite their inferior head-to-head record in recent matches against Tottenham, Manchester United can be confident of getting a result when they make the trip to the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.

Ange Postecoglou’s side are currently on a run of just three wins in their last 12 domestic matches, with those victories coming against Brentford, National League side Tamworth and Liverpool in the first leg of the League Cup semi-final, a tie that they would go on to lose 4-1 on aggregate.

Ruben Amorim’s men have won six of their last eight matches across all competitions since drawing 2-2 at Anfield against Liverpool on 5th January. On top of this, United travel to a Spurs side that have the 14th-best home record in the division.
