Royal Ascot Tips - 4.20pm Tuesday

Our resident horse racing tipster has selected Field Of Gold as the best bet for the 4.20pm - read his Royal Ascot Day 1 tips article here.

A comfortable winner of the Irish 2,000 Guineas by over three lengths - a classic trial race for this event - he showed his class there in the final furlong when pulling well clear of the rest of the field.

Colin Keane retains the ride having impressed last time out.

The first of the two main dangers is Henri Matisse. Back from a successful win in France, the Breeders' Cup Juvenile Turf winner impressed but the race was run to suit and he'll find it more difficult in this small field.

The second is Ruling Court, who actually beat Field Of Gold when he last raced. That was in the English 2,000 Guineas at Newmarket and he got the run on Kieran Shoemark (riding Field Of Gold) who found himself sitting too far back. He ran out of track to close that day, but in this smaller field and with that lesson learnt Keane can avenge that defeat.
