On Thursday night, Lazio takes on FC Porto at the Stadio Olimpico in the Europa League Round of 32 with Maurizio Sarri’s men looking to overturn a 2-1 first-leg defeat.
Sergio Conceicao’s side won thanks to a brace from former West Ham United striker Toni Martinez after Mattia Zaccagni had given the Serie A outfit the lead, meaning that Lazio will have to come out all guns blazing if they are to advance through to the next round.
Lazio’s last five matches have seen them beat the likes of Fiorentina and Bologna 3-0 on either side of a 4-0 thumping away at AC Milan. Following their 2-1 loss to Porto, Sarri’s men drew 1-1 away at Udinese and will be hoping that the likes of Ciro Immobile, Sergej Milinkovic-Savic and co can inspire his team to a victory against the Liga Primeira leaders.
Porto have won four of their last five matches, following 2-1 and 2-0 wins over Maritimo and Arouca in Liga NOS, as well as managing a 2-2 home draw with Sporting Lisbon having been 2-0 down, the Estadio do Dragao club beat Moreirense 1-0 last weekend.
