The oldest golf tournament in the world, dating back to 1860, The Open remains one of the most prestigious tournaments to win. The $17 million prize purse and the opportunity to win the Claret Jug has attracted, as always, a top class field.
The competition returns to Royal Portrush again for the second time in six years having also hosted the event in 2019 when it was won by Shane Lowry who takes part again this year.
Last year's winner Xander Schauffele retains to defend his title, while local boy Rory McIlroy will hope to perform better than 2019 when he failed to even make the cut.
