Tottenham Hotspur: 5/1

Tottenham Hotspur are the bookies’ favourites to win the Europa League at 5/1.

Spurs manager Jose Mourinho has won the competition the last two times he has been in it, with Porto in 2003 and with Manchester United in 2017.

If Tottenham are likely to go all the way to the final in Gdansk in May, many of their players will be reliant on the experience that the 58-year-old has in European competitions, as well as the fitness of key men such as Harry Kane.

Mourinho’s side have made it to the final of the Carabao Cup which takes place at Wembley Stadium in April and will be looking to use the Europa League to further build his side’s winning mentality. This competition may become vital to Tottenham as it may ultimately become their last viable route to qualification for the Champions League if their league form continues to stutter.

Having progressed from a group containing Royal Antwerp, LASK and Ludogorets, they will face Austrian minnows Wolfsberger in the round of 32.

Manchester United: 6/1

Manchester United are the second-favourites to win the competition, having being knocked out of the Champions League group stages by PSG and RB Leipzig.

United last won the Europa League in 2017 as mentioned above when they beat Dutch side Ajax 2-0 in the final in Stockholm thanks to goals from Paul Pogba and Henrikh Mkhitaryan which qualified them for the Champions League the following season.

Last season United made it to the semi-finals of the competition but were narrowly beaten by eventual winners Sevilla 2-1 following a late goal by Luuk De Jong.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s side have been drawn against Real Sociedad in the round of 32 in what will be a tough draw for the Red Devils. United are yet to win a trophy under Solskjaer, and this perhaps presents the Old Trafford club with their best chance of winning once since they last won this competition four years ago.

AC Milan: 9/1

Serie A league leaders AC Milan are the third favourites to win the Europa League.

AC currently sit two points above city rivals Inter in the Italian top-flight having won 14 of their 20 league matches, losing just twice.

The Rossoneri finished top of Group H ahead of the likes of Lille, Sparta Prague and Celtic with 13 points from a possible 18. The Italian side will be looking to carry on their impressive form so far this season by reaching their first European final since 2007 when they beat Liverpool 2-1 in the UEFA Champions League final in Athens.

If Stefano Pioli’s side are to reach the final in Gdansk, the first team stood in their way are Serbian outfit Red Star Belgrade. The Italian’s are firm favourites to progress from this tie.

AC are priced at 9/1 to win their first European trophy in 14 years.

Arsenal: 10/1

Mikel Arteta’s Arsenal are next on the list of teams in contention to win the Europa League.

This competition may end up being the Gunners’ most realistic chances of qualifying for next season’s Champions League, as they currently sit in tenth place in the Premier League, eight points behind Leicester City in fourth.

Arsenal were faultless in their Europa League group, having beaten the likes of Molde, Rapid Vienna and Dundalk to top of the group with 18 points from 18 despite playing largely weakened lineups.

However, their test to see if they really are up to win the Europa League will start in the knockout stages, as they were given a tricky draw against Liga Nos side Benfica.

Arsenal have the odds of 10/1 to win the Europa League for the first time in their history.

Leicester City: 12/1

Brendan Rodgers’ Leicester City are the fourth English side to be included on this list, having impressed once again in the Premier League.

As mentioned above, the Foxes are fourth in England’s top flight and sit just five points behind league leaders Manchester City.

Leicester’s form in the Europa League has been of a good standard this season considering that they have often fielded a more rotated line-up in the majority of their group games against AEK Athens, Zorya Luhansk and Sporting Braga. Leicester finished top of Group G having accumulated 13 points from six matches.

Rodgers’ side have been drawn against Czech Republic outfit Slavia Prague in the round of 32, of which the Foxes are expected to comfortably qualify to the round of 16 from this draw.

The Foxes chances of winning the competition will rely heavily on the fitness of the likes Jamie Vardy, who they do struggle without when he is unavailable, as shown by last weekend’s 3-1 defeat against Leeds.

Leicester are priced at 12/1 to win their first major honour since they won the Premier League in the 2015/16 season.

Napoli: 12/1

Napoli are the second Italian side to be discussed in this list of teams, and rightly so after they qualified ahead of the likes of Real Sociedad and AZ Alkmaar from Group F.

The Italian club are managed by AC Milan club legend Gennaro Gattuso who replaced Carlo Ancelotti last season and managed to win the Coppa Italia last season, having beaten Juventus in the final 4-2 on penalties following a stalemate after extra time.

Gattuso’s side will have to keep the likes of Hirving Lozano and Lorenzo Insigne fit if they are to progress and win the competition for the first time since 1989, as both of the wingers have nine goals each in the Serie A and are vital to the way that they play.

Napoli have the odds of 12/1 to win the Europa League in Gdansk.
