2026 World Cup Outrights & Latest Odds with bet365

The week has finally arrived, as on Thursday 11th June, the FIFA World Cup begins, with Mexico and South Africa kicking off the festivities. This will be the biggest edition of the tournament with 48 teams set to do battle to be crowned the world's best, with the final taking place on the 19th of July.

Argentina are the reigning World Champions, so the pressure will be on the likes of Lionel Messi, who could be set to feature in his final World Cup for the three-time winners. Teams such as France, Brazil, Germany and European Champions Spain are expected to be amongst the frontrunners for the competition, whilst England look to break their tournament curse with a World Cup triumph 60 years gone from the glory of 1996.

The addition of more teams in the tournament has allowed newcomers Cape Verde, Curaçao, Jordan, and Uzbekistan to make their first participation in the World's biggest competition and the likes of Norway and Scotland make their return to the World Cup.

Ahead of the competition, we have teamed up with bet365 to provide latest outright odds for the tournament this summer, as well as preview what they can offer this tournament for you as a customer.

Spain to win the World Cup - 9/2

Following on from their triumph against England in Euro 2024, Spain head into this tournament as one of the favourites alongside the likes of France & Argentina, with bet365 offering 9/2 for La Roja to go all the way this summer.

Spain are one of the most successful international teams this century, notably winning their only World Cup in 2010, alongside two further European Championships in 2008 and 2012, which represented a golden era. Spain's squad has seen another sort of rejuvenation, blending the experience of Rodri (Manchester City) and Mikel Oyarzabal (Real Sociedad) with the exuberant playmaking of Lamine Yamal (Barcelona).

Yamal managed to score 16 goals in La Liga for Barcelona, provide 11 assists, and claim 10 goal contributions in the Champions League. So much is expected of this young star, and we believe that he will shine in North America this summer.

Spain has a relatively straightforward group, with only Uruguay likely to cause them issues, if any. Should Spain finish top of their group as expected, their run to the final will include:

  • Austria (R32)
  • Croatia (R16)
  • Belgium (QF)
  • France (SF)
  • Brazil (F)

Bruno Fernandes to win the Golden Ball - 20/1

Portugal's chances of a maiden World Cup will likely rest on their depth in midfield this summer, and whilst the likes of Joao Neves and Vitinha achieved European success for their club side PSG this season, Bruno Fernandes is likely to be the main source of creativity. The Manchester United captain has had a stellar season, and you can get odds of 20/1 for the creative maverick to win the Golden Ball this summer.

Bruno Fernandes has often been the shining light for his underperforming club over the last few seasons, and this campaign he has broken the all-time Premier League record and led the Red Devils to a third-place finish. Under Ruben Amorim, the Portuguese midfielder was deployed in a midfield two in a stagnant system, which didn't benefit the team or Fernandes' playmaking ability.

Michael Carrick then arrived in January and positioned Bruno Fernandes back in the number 10 role, and subsequently, his and the team's performances improved drastically. Fernandes ended the campaign with 21 assists and nine goals, whilst winning both the Premier League Player of the Season and the FWA Player of the Year awards.
