Oxford United and Burton Albion will head into a clash at Pirelli Stadium off the back of winless runs in League One with the Brewers set to play hosts to Oxford after missing out on action in midweek.
Burton's game with Peterborough United was postponed in midweek which could bode well for the club. Dino Maamria's men are, however, coming into this game off the back of a 4-0 loss to Shrewsbury Town at home. Prior to this, Burton lost 1-0 to Grimsby Town in the FA Cup third round away from home and were also hammered by Morecambe 5-0 in a League One meeting just before that. It does mean three games and no goals for Burton, while also letting in 10 goals in this time as well. It now puts the Brewers just one point off last-placed Forest Green Rovers, who Burton managed to beat not too long ago.
What's more, the Brewers are also two pints off Morecambe in 21st place and are an almighty 14 points off the top half of the table. They are the second-worst defensive side in the league too with 54 goals conceded and 32 scored of their own.
As for Oxford, they head into this game off the back os losing 2-0 to Wycombe Wanderers in League One after conceding two first half goals. Karl Robinson's men now sit in 12th and 13 points above Burton in 23rd as his side gradually begin to improve their form as time goes on. On the 0ther hand, they remain seven points off the top six and have played 27 games compared to many above them who have played 25.
