Arsenal are looking to maintain their strong run of results as they face off against Atletico Madrid in the Champions League group phase this week.
- Date: 21/10/2025
- Kick-off: 8:00pm
- Location: Emirates Stadium, North London
Arsenal sit 5th in the Champions League group phase table with six points from two games. The Gunners began their campaign with a 2-0 win away at Athletic Bilbao before beating Olympiacos 2-0 on home soil.
Mikel Arteta's side haven't been pulling up trees with their performances, but they're picking up wins at an excellent rate, winning seven of their last eight outings, with the other ending in a draw. At the weekend, Arsenal ground out a hard-fought 1-0 win away at Fulham thanks to a goal from Leandro Trossard.
Arsenal are unbeaten on home soil this season, winning four and drawing one of their five home fixtures in all competitions. They lost only one game at home in the Champions League last season - a 0-1 defeat to eventual winners PSG. Arsenal's overall record in the Champions League was very strong last season, winning nine, drawing two and lost three of their 14 games.
Arsenal have conceded only one goal at home this season, scored by Erling Haaland, and have kept a clean sheet in four of their last five games.
Atletico Madrid are currently 10th in the Champions League group phase table with three points from two games. Diego Simeone's side lost 3-2 to Liverpool at Anfield in their opening game before hammering Eintracht Frankfurt 5-1 in their second game.
The Madrid-based side are 4th in La Liga with 16 points from nine games and come into this game in good form with four wins from their last five games. Away from home, though, their record is much less convincing, with three draws and one loss from their four games on the road in all competitions.
Arsenal are on a serious run at the moment and while they're not great to watch, they're extremely effective. The Emirates is one of the toughest grounds to visit in Europe at the minute and given Atletico were unable to get a result at Anfield, it's hard to see them getting anything in North London this week.
