Chelsea are looking to make it two wins on the bounce in the Champions League as they take on Ajax this week.
- Date: 22/10/2025
- Kick-off: 8:00pm
- Location: Stamford Bridge, West London
Chelsea are currently 18th in the Champions League table with three points from two games. The Blues were handily beaten 3-1 by Bayern Munich in their season opener before beating Benfica 1-0 in a cagey game at Stamford Bridge last time out.
The Blues are suffering something of an injury crisis at present, but have still been picking up decent results with four wins from their last five games. Performances haven't been particularly impressive, but they have a knack for recording wins and that will be essential if they want to progress in this competition. Chelsea's home form is good, with three wins and one loss from their last four games.
Over 2.5 goals have been scored in seven of Chelsea's last eight games, which potentially makes for entertaining viewing in this one.
Ajax currently sit 35th in the Champions League table. The Dutch side lost 0-2 to Inter Milan in their first game before falling to a 4-0 hammering at the hands of Marseille.
It's been an awful start to the campaign for Ajax, who find themselves 4th in the Eredivisie. They've won only one of their last five games, losing two of those, with their most recent encounter a 0-2 loss to AZ Alkmaar. Over 2.5 goals have been scored in four of their last five games, and fans will be concerned about their defence heading into this one.
Manager John Heitinga is coming under serious pressure here and many feel as though his job is on the line. Unfortunately for him, there is little reason to believe that Chelsea won't simply add to his misery, with the Blues looking good for three points.
