Liverpool are aiming to maintain their 100% record in the Champions League as they take on Villarreal this week.
The Reds come into this game 5th in the Premier League with 12 points from seven games. It's been a mixed start to the season for the Reds, but fans will hope they're now starting to find their feet under new boss Andoni Iraola.
It took Bournemouth a few months to find their rhythm in Iraola's early days at the club, and with Liverpool having now won four of their last five matches the general trend is following a similar trajectory.
At the weekend, the Reds beat Brentford 2-1 away from home after the Bees were reduced to ten men, with Victor Munoz and Alexander Isak bagging the goals.
Liverpool will be pleased to see Isak finally starting to hit form in a red shirt, with the striker netting five goals in six appearances this season.
Four of Liverpool's last five games have seen over 2.5 goals scored, and that's a theme we expect to continue here.
Villarreal, meanwhile, are 12th in La Liga with nine points from nine games. It's been a fairly middling start to the season for the Yellow Submarine, whose fans will feel they're underperforming domestically.
At the weekend, they were held to a 0-0 draw at home to Elche, a disappointing result all things considered.
They did, however, claim a strong result in the Champions League last week when they beat Napoli 3-1. After losing to Dortmund 3-2 in the first game week, they now have their first win on the board.
They'll find it tough to make it two successive wins in Europe away at Anfield this week, though, with the home side the clear favourites.
Liverpool 3-1 Villarreal
