Burnley vs. Cardiff Prediction, Tips & Stats

Champions Burnley play their last game in the EFL Championship for one more year at least as they face Cardiff City at Turf Moor.

Burnley currently sit top of the Championship with twenty-eight wins, fourteen draws and three losses from forty-five games this season.

The Clarets have had a frankly outstanding campaign under Vincent Kompany having secured the league title with a number of games to spare.

Kompany's debut season as a manager in English football could not have gone any better, with the Belgian transforming Burnley's style of play from a rugged, defensive approach to one of the most, if not the most, expansive passing sides in the league.

They enter this game in solid form having won two, drawn two and lost one of their last five games, the most recent of which was a 2-1 win away at Bristol City.

The win in Bristol marked their second on the bounce so they're coming into this game in good shape.

The Clarets have lost only once at Turf Moor all season and they'll desperately want to cap off what has been an excellent campaign in front of their own fans with a win.

Cardiff City currently sit 21st in the Championship with thirteen wins, ten draws and twenty-two losses from forty-five games this season.

The Bluebirds have had a difficult season on the whole and for a decent chunk of time looked in serious danger of relegation.

However, they've salvaged their status as a Championship club and they enter this game in solid form having won two, drawn one and lost one of their last four games.

Most recently, Cardiff were beaten 1-2 at home by Huddersfield Town.

Their record away from home has been very good of late, with The Bluebirds winning three of their last four games on the road.

Cardiff took a point off Burnley in a 1-1 draw back in October so they can feel confident that they matchup well with their opponents.

However, this will be a much tougher test away from home and given Burnley's strength on their own patch it's tough to see Cardiff overcoming that.

For our Burnley vs. Cardiff prediction, we're going for a 3-1 win for the home side.
