Coventry vs. Birmingham Prediction, Tips & Stats

Coventry City’s play-off push enters its final stages as they face Birmingham City in the Championship this weekend.

Coventry City currently sit 5th in the Championship with seventeen wins, fifteen draws and twelve losses from forty-four games this season.

The Sky Blues are having a fantastic campaign and are defying the odds as they find themselves in a strong position to secure a play-off sport coming into the final two games.

Few would have expected Coventry to secure a play-off berth coming into this season but they enter this game with a top six finish in their own hands, and their form suggests they’ll see the job through as they’ve lost just one of their last ten matches while winning two of their last three.

Their most recent game saw them claim a hard-fought 2-1 win over Reading, a huge result all things considered.

Their form at home has been solid too, with The Sky Blues winning two, drawing two and losing one of their last five games on home soil.

Coventry are just one point ahead of Millwall and Blackburn in 7th and 8th with two games left to play so they’re in for a very finish to the campaign. Their fate is in their own hands but given the clim gap this game is a must-win, especially considering they travel to Middlesbrough on the final day.

Birmingham City currently sit 17th in the Championship with fourteen wins, eleven draws and nineteen losses forty-four games this season.

The Blues have had an overwhelmingly successful campaign all things considered as they were almost unanimously tipped to be relegated to League One coming into the season.

Instead, they’d defied those projections having mathematically secured survival with games to spare despite working with such limited resources.

They can now enjoy their final two games of the campaign and they’ll be hoping they can get a win or two as they enter this match having won just one of their last five, drawing two and losing two of the other four.

Their form away from home does read more encouragingly, however, with The Blues winning two, drawing one and losing one of their last four on the road.

These two sides drew 0-0 when they met back in September but the expectation is that Coventry will triumph more comfortably.

However, Birmingham can give any side in this division a game on their day and while three points are unlikely a draw is perfectly plausible.

For our Coventry vs. Birmingham prediction, we’re going for a 2-1 win for the home side.
