Hull vs. Burnley Prediction, Tips & Stats

For our Hull vs. Burnley prediction, we're going for a 2-0 win for the away side.

Burnley's title charge resumed on Wednesday night as they travel to face Hull City in the Championship.

Hull City currently sit 15th in the Championship with twelve wins, ten draws and fourteen losses from thirty-six games this season.

It's been a starkly mediocre campaign for The Tigers this time out as they now look ahead to next season and what they can build off the back of this campaign.

They enter this game amidst a fairly poor run of form having won one, drawn two and lost two of their last five matches, the most recent of which was a 1-1 draw away at Coventry City - a decent point considering their opponent's form.

Their record at home, though, has been pretty solid of late with The Tigers winning three of their last four games on home soil while going unbeaten in their last five.

Hull are basically playing for pride at this point but their fans will be eager for their side to show some developmental steps int he remaining months of the season to provide some optimism for the next campaign. This week, they face the thankless task of overturning the league's runaway leaders.

Burnley currently sit top of the Championship with twenty-three wins, eleven draws and two losses from thirty-six games this season.

The Clarets are the league's runaway leaders and have effectively sealed promotion back to the Premier League as they sit seventeen points clear of Middlesbrough in 3rd.

Vincent Kompany's men are now chasing the league's record points total, 106 points, but that will be mightily difficult given there are thirty points left to play for meaning the maximum Burnley could achieve would be 110 points.

They enter this game in good form having won three and drawn two of their last five matches, the most recent of which was a 3-0 win against a sorry Wigan Athletic side.

They've also been highly impressive defensively of late having kept four clean sheets in a row.

Their away record has been solid enough while not being overly impressive having won two and drawn three of their last five matches on the road.

These two sides drew 1-1 when they met in the league back in August but given how little Hull have to play for compared to Burnley it feels like a repeat result is unlikely here. Expect The Clarets to take all three points this time around.
