The two promoted teams from League One will meet for the first-ever time in the Championship this weekend with Plymouth Argyle set to head to Portman Road where Ipswich Town are sitting up in second after a sensational start.
Despite Plymouth beating Ipswich to the league title last season in League One, the Tractor Boys are no doubt having a significantly better season. Ipswich are currently in second place after a 1-0 win over Bristol City in the last outing that put them on a three-game winning run.
Ipswich are now adrift of Leicester City by just five points in the league table and with a game in hand to play, and they already have a stunning nine-point gap on Leeds United in third place to put them well in the mixer for a spot in the Premier League next season already.
The club would beat Hull City and Preston North End in this faultless run throughout October, and by beating Bristol, they have now scored eight goals in the past three matches. Better yet, Ipswich have also managed to defeat Wolves in the EFL Cup third round back in September and now meet with Fulham in the round of 16 next week. The Tractor Boys have also not suffered a loss since that stunning 4-3 loss to Leeds back in late August.
As for Plymouth, they have struggled tremendously since coming into the Championship and they now head into this game having put together only four wins in the 13 matches, although they are still above the bottom three by six points. Plymouth beat Sheffield Wednesday 3-0 beforehand, with Mustapha Bundu, Morgan Whittaker and Ryan Hardie.
Other wins for Plymouth have also seen them defeat Blackburn Rovers 3-0 and even smash Norwich City 6-2 in a match back in September. They have, however, still managed to let in 19 goals and score 21 times throughout the 13 games.
