Luton vs Burnley Prediction, Tips & Stats

It's arguably the biggest game in the Championship this weekend when Luton Town opens their doors at Kenilworth Road to the league leaders Burnley who dropped points for the first time in 10 league games in midweek.

Vincent Kompany has been an absolute gem for the Clarets this season and they have somehow managed to completely change the way in which they did things under Sean Dyche for so many years. The club previously went on a club record-breaking run of 10 wins on the bounce in the Championship before their midweek draw against Watford.

Even then, at Turf Moor, Burnley managed to stun the Hornets with a goal in the 95th minute of the game from Michael Obafemi to keep up their stunning unbeaten run since losing to Sheffield United 5-2 back in November. It means their only loss in this time has come in a 3-0 defeat to Manchester United in the EFL Cup round of 16, as they've even gone on to beat Bournemouth and Ipswich Town in the FA Cup.

Burnley defeated Preston North End last weekend 3-0, and this also came not long after the Clarets smashed Norwich City 3-0 to make it three wins and one draw in February so far for Kompany's men.

As for Luton, they drew with Preston at Deepdale on Wednesday, as Carlton Morris scored before an equaliser 10 minutes from time from the home side. Nevertheless, it keeps Luton in third and with a game in hand on Middlesbrough just above them, although there is still a gap of four points on Michael Carrick's in-form Boro. The Hatters are also above Sunderland in fifth by two points and fans are really starting to believe that Luton can end up in the playoffs this season after finishing sixth last year but putting in a dismal display in the playoffs itself.

Last weekend, Luton drew 1-1 with Coventry City and after also losing 3-0 in a stunning defeat to League Two's Grimsby Town, it now means a three-game winless run since defeating Stoke City at the start of the month.

After snatching an equaliser in the dying seconds against Watford, it feels as if Burnley are not going to lose these days. A win for them is expected, but away from home, this could be their biggest test during their sensational 11-game unbeaten run.
