Two promotion hopefuls in the Championship will clash at The Den this weekend with Millwall set to welcome Leeds United to east London to reignite their rivalry in the second tier after two seasons without playing one another.
These two sides usually have high-scoring and intense battles, and with both sides struggling for any sort of consistency so far in 2023/24, this clash is arguably bigger than it previously was.
Heading into this game, the relegated Leeds are sitting down in 15th in what has been one of their worst starts to a Championship campaign since they were relegated to League One over a decade ago. The Whites have managed to secure just one win from five games so far, and their usual goalscoring excellence has not been there with only seven goals scored and seven let in.
Leeds drew 0-0 with Sheffield Wednesday last time out before the international break, and things have been made even worse with an exit from the EFL Cup in the second round to League Two's Salford City on penalties. In fact, even in the club's only win this season, the Yorkshire side managed to let in three goals in a 4-3 win at Portman Road over Ipswich Town - Georginio Rutter, Wilfried Gnonto, Joel Piroe and Luis Sinisterra all scored that day.
While Leeds' goalscoring form is way below its usual standard, Millwall are in tatters at the goalscoring end. So far, the Lions have bagged just four goals in five games and although they have managed to score at least one goal in four of the five games, it does mean they have failed to score more than one in a single outing after also losing to Reading in the EFL Cup first round 4-0.
So far, Millwall's only two wins have been away to Middlesbrough and at home to Stoke City, while they drew with Birmingham City last time out and have also lost to Norwich City and Bristol City. Nevertheless, their home form in the league continues to be somewhat impressive with one loss here and only one goal conceded too.
Jake Cooper to commit 2+ fouls is at 11/8 in this game from 11/10 - Cooper has committed six fouls in his last two games. Zian Flemming 2+ shots on target is also boosted to 11/4 - Flemming has had four shots on target over his last three games. Joel Piroe to score is up to 3/1 and he scored in his last away game for Leeds.
