Norwich welcome West Brom to Carrow Road this weekend, where they will take on the status of the underdog. When the two clubs met in August, the Baggies picked up a 1-0 home win.
Norwich
The Canaries have either been unstoppable or underwhelming this season, as shown by their 11 wins and 11 losses in 27 matches. Despite that, Norwich are 11th in the table, just two points behind Coventry in sixth. David Wagner’s side have been excellent in the final third, netting 1.63 goals per game on average, but they are also vulnerable defensively, conceding 1.59 on average.
Last weekend, Norwich completed the perfect away counterattack game plan, as they beat Hull 2-1 on the road. Although they had 33% of the ball and faced 19 shots, they controlled the tie.
West Brom
The Baggies have been brilliant this season, and come the end of the season, they will be in and around the playoff spots. West Brom are currently fifth in the league with 45 points from 27 games. However, they have picked up 30 of those points at home.
Nonetheless, West Brom have the joint second-best defence in the league, conceding 0.93 goals per game on average. However, they aren’t quite as fluid in attack as those around them in the table, as the Baggies only score 1.48 goals per game. That said, they picked up a huge 4-1 victory at home last weekend against a poor Blackburn Rovers.
Verdict?
This game will be extremely tight, with West Brom looking to frustrate the hosts with their stubborn defending.
Norwich will have plenty of the ball, but they will be tested in attack. Fine margins will decide the game.
The final prediction is Norwich 1-1 West Brom.
