Preston vs. Bristol City Prediction, Tips & Stats

For our Preston vs. Bristol City prediction, we're going for a 2-1 win for the away side.

Preston North End are looking to keep their play-off hopes alive as they welcome Bristol City to Deepdale in the Championship this weekend.

Preston North End currently sit 11th in the Championship with eleven wins, seven draws and ten losses from twenty-eight games this season.

Preston have been up and down form-wise this season but have become much more consistent in recent weeks, leaving them in a very healthy position heading into the final third of the campaign.

Preston enter this game amidst a mixed run of form in the league having won two and lost three of their last five games in the Championship, but they have won two of their last three so they can take that as an overall positive.

Most recently, Preston were comprehensively beaten 0-3 by Tottenham Hotspur in the FA Cup.

Preston's home form is a huge concern heading into this game with Ryan Lowe's side having lost each of their last four consecutive home matches in the league.

Preston will likely be too short on quality to reach to the play-offs but they do only sit three points outside of the top six. If they can maintain this level then make a strong run to close out the season it's not impossible, but for now they must focus on improving their dismal home record.

Bristol City currently sit 17th in the Championship with eight wins, nine draws and eleven losses from twenty-eight games this season.

After an excellent start that had them looking like surefire promotion contenders, Bristol City have gone off the boil immensely in recent months and have spent the majority of the campaign in the bottom half of the table.

They enter this game in good form, though, having won three, drawn one and lost one of their last five matches in all competitions, the most recent of which was a convincing 3-0 win over West Bromwich Albion in the FA Cup.

They've only won one of their last five in the league, however, but they've also only lost once in that period and having taken four points from their last two games they can be optimistic that they're on the up.

Bristol City beat Preston 2-1 when the two sides met in the league back in October, and given Preston's sorry home form they'll fancy they can do the double here.

The Robins are in decent form and this is a huge chance to capitalise on that and help build some momentum. This game could go either way but Bristol City seem primed to nick it.
