Southampton are looking to keep pace with the top two in the EFL Championship as they face Queens Park Rangers away from home this weekend.
Queens Park Rangers currently sit 22nd in the EFL Championship with five wins, five draws and twelve losses from twenty-two games this season.
The Hoops have had a tough season for the most part - most of which was due to an abysmal start under manager Gareth Ainsworth, who as a result was relieved of his duties - but things have slowly started to improve.
They're coming into this game having won three, drawn one and lost one of their last five matches, the most recent of which was a 2-1 loss at Sheffield Wednesday.
The loss against the side placed bottom of the league was hugely disappointing, especially given QPR entered that game on a three-match unbeaten run.
As a result, QPR are now coming into this one on a two-match unbeaten run and there will be some notable pressure from the fanbase for them to win here to avoid the mood quickly dropping once again, thus undoing all the good work the side have done to raise spirits in the last few weeks.
They are at least unbeaten in their last four games on home soil, winning two of those, so they'll feel better equipped to deal with Southampton in front of their own fans.
Southampton currently sit 4th in the EFL Championship with twelve wins, six draws and four losses from twenty-two games this season.
The Saints have had a strong season in light of relegation from the Championship last time out and if not for two anomaly campaigns from Leicester City and Ipswich Town would almost certainly be in the automatic promotion places.
They're coming into this game in very good form, unbeaten in their last fourteen games having won three of their last four.
Their latest showing saw them deliver an impressive 4-0 hammering of Blackburn Rovers with goals from Sam Edozie, Stuart Armstrong, Sékou Mara and Carlos Alcaraz capping off a dominant performance from Russell Martin's side.
There is some concern over their away form, though, as they enter this one having won only one of their last five games on the road so they'll need to be wary here to avoid falling victim to a complacent defeat.
Overall Southampton are in excellent shape and should be favoured to beat most sides they face in the division, with QPR not one of the exceptions.
For our QPR vs. Southampton prediction, we're going for a 2-1 win for the away side.
