Rotherham vs. Watford Prediction, Tips & Stats

Two sides in need of a win meet in the EFL Championship as Rotherham United take on Watford.

Rotherham United currently sit 24th in the EFL Championship with three wins, ten draws and eighteen losses from thirty-one games this season.

The Millers have had a predictably tough campaign in England's second tier and as things stand they are well on track for relegation back to League One.

They're coming into this game in awful form having won just one of their last twenty games in all competitions while losing five of their last six.

Their latest outing saw them fall to a 1-2 defeat to Hull City, a game they will feel they could have gotten more out of after taking the lead through Christ Tiéhi before allowing Hull to turn the game around in the 71st and 75th minutes.

The defeat extended Rotherham's winless run to eight games, and as they now sit twelve points shy of safety they're looking more and more like a certainty for relegation as the weeks pass by.

They're entering this one off the back of three straight defeats on home soil so it feels like there's little reason to back them to slump to anything other than another loss.

Watford currently sit 13th in the EFL Championship with ten wins, eleven draws and eleven losses from thirty-two games this season.

The Hornets are having a wholly mediocre campaign in the Championship and look destined to replicate last season's tame mid-table finish.

They're coming into this game very much out of form, winless in their last seven games in all competitions having lost their last four on the bounce.

Their most recent game saw them fall to a disappointing 4-2 loss away at Norwich City, a frustrating result given they fought back from 2-0 down to bring the scoreline level at 2-2 before eventually conceding twice more.

Away from home they've not been too bad, as prior to the defeat at Carrow Road they'd gone unbeaten in their last seven games on the road.

The Hornets are in dire need of a win and they'll be thankful they're facing the league's worst side, according to the league table, as they'll fancy themselves to break their winless streak.

They've already beaten Rotherham 5-0 this season and while this game is unlikely to be that one sides they should at the very least avoid defeat here.

For our Rotherham vs. Watford prediction, we're going for a 2-1 win for the away side.

            Rotherham Team News

The Millers have a lengthy injury list with Fred Onyedinma, Andre Green, Daniel Ayala, Grant Hall, Cohen Bramall, Tyler Blackett and Shane Ferguson all set to miss out.

Changes are likely following defeat to Hull in midweek, with Cafu and Sean Morrison pushing for a return to the starting lineup.

            Watford Team News

Ryan Porteous is unavailable through suspension after receiving his 10th yellow card of the season at Carrow Road in midweek, so Mattie Pollock is expected to deputise in his absence. Edo Kayembe is another candidate to come into the starting lineup as the Hornets attempt to freshen things up.

Jeremy Ngakia and Vakoun Issouf Bayo are both out injured.
