Stoke vs Leicester Prediction, Tips & Stats

The bet365 Stadium opens its doors to Stoke City and Leicester City this weekend in the Championship as the Foxes aim to keep their 10-point gap on Ipswich Town in the race for top spot in the second tier.

Since the beginning of the season, Leicester have been favoured to win the Championship and have not disappointed. The club remain 10 clear of Ipswich in the race for top spot and are now heading into this game with five more wins than Ipswich in second and Southampton in third. This has also seen them put together the best defensive record with 23 goals let in and a fantastic tally of 59 scored too.

The Foxes were in midweek action last time out, as they edged past Swansea City thanks to a finish each from Stephy Mavididi and Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall. They are also into the next round of the FA Cup after beating Birmingham City 3-0 and will now meet with Bournemouth at the Vitality Stadium in round five - Jamie Vardy, Dennis Praet and Yunus Akgun all bagged a goal each that day.

As for the Potters, it's been another terrible season for Stoke. They are down in 19th with only ewight wins on the board and 13 losses, while they exited the FA Cup in round three after a home loss to the Premier League's Brighton & Hove Albion. Stoke have beaten Rotherham United in the past month, however, but with a loss at home to Birmingham and a defeat to Sunderland at the Stadium of Light, the club have gradually been thrown deeper into the relegation fight.

            Leicester team news

Hermansen started in goal in midweek and likely keeps his spot here due to injuries. Ricardo Pereira, Wes Faes, Jannik Vestergaard and Doyle should all start in the back four, as Conor Coady still can't seem to get into the side. Patson Daka got a rare start during the week and fired the blank, so expect Jamie Vardy or Tom Cannon back in the starting XI. McAteer, Praet and Stephy Mavididi should all start once more - the latter netted a penalty last time out. Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall scored against Swansea during the week, and he should start next to Harry Winks.

            Stoke team news

Stoke were off during the week and have managed to rest players facing injury concerns, such as Leris, Haksabanovic and Campbell - all three should start here once more. Bae, Burger and Cundle should all start in the midfield as well. Andre Vidigal and Lewis Baker likely come back into the side, however, and Jack Bonham and Ben Pearson have also returned to action this past week.
