Swansea vs Coventry Prediction, Tips & Stats

The winless Swansea City are set to play hosts to Coventry City in South Wales this weekend with the two sides heading into this one in completely contrasting form after two games in the new second tier season.

The Swans have failed to secure a win in the Championship so far after drawing with Birmingham City in the first game back in early August as Jerry Yates scored once more for the club.

A visit from Northampton Town would follow with Swansea registering their first win of the season, as Joel Piroe scored twice that day alongside a finish from Josh Ginnelly. Swansea had a total of 22 shots that day with seven on target.

The club would then visit The Hawthorns and fall to a 3-2 loss to West Bromwich Albion after a goal from Harry Darling and a finish from Nathan Wood in the second half. By this point, however, they were already 3-0 down.

As for Coventry, they fell to a 2-1 loss to Leicester City on the opening weekend before a 2-1 defeat at the hands of Wimbledon away from home in the EFL Cup first round. The Sky Blues returned to winning ways by beating Middlesbrough 3-0 after goals from Haji Wright, Matt Godden and an own goal, and this was the second time the club defeated Boro this year after a win in the playoff semi-finals.

Coventry team news

Coventry put together a 3-0 win over Middlesbrough last time out and are set to keep the same set-up here with no new injuries to deal with. Ellis Simms and Matt Godden should line up in the attacking set up with the latter scoring last time out. Palmer is also likely to play in attacking midfield, but Haji Wright and Tatsuhiro Sakamoto should get some more minutes too. Ki Andrews and Jake Bidwell have been getting game time recently and the same applies for Liam Kelly.

Swansea team news

Swansea's winless run in the early stages of the Championship has alsp brought in seven yellow cards already with Nathan Wood scoring from defence and getting booked in the loss to West Brom. Cabango and Harry Darling were also booked in defence in the last outing. In midfield, Key and Cooper are set to play alongside Max Grimes, with Jay Fulton and Ashby also likely to play in midfield. Jerry Yates and Joel Piroe remain the main goalscoring threats for the club and they should stay in the side here.
