Bolton Wanderers are up into fifth after a midweek victory over Forest Green Rovers on Tuesday with Ian Evatt's men set to head on the road to The Valley this weekend where Charlton Athletic are eyeing up the top half.
Bolton only edged past Forest Green by a narrow 1-0 scoreline after having just three shots on target. On the other hand, Dion Charles' red card after 28 minutes did force Wanderers to play with 10 men for most of the game, and this came just 18 minutes after Charles scored the game's only goal too.
Evatt's side are now in fifth but have to deal with the fact they've played more games than everyone else in the division besides first and third. Bolton's 28 games have seen them win 13 games and lose seven but net 35 times and let in 22 goals. At the same time, Barnsley in sixth have three games in hand over them and just a four-point gap to deal with, so Bolton are likely to lose their spot in fifth soon. Nevertheless, a chance in the playoffs is no doubt on the cards if their form can continue.
Charlton head into this one after beating another promotion hopeful, Barnsley. The club saw Tyreece Campbell net another goal, before Jesurun Rak-Sakyi scored a goal in the second half at The Valley that day. Charlton remain in 15th with a gap of 10 points on the bottom three in the table.
