Aston Villa are hoping to finish the job in front of their own fans as they face off against Lille in the second leg of their Europa League last 16 tie.
Villa enter the game with a one-goal lead after a fine goal from Ollie Watkins - who is now up to nine for the season - gave them a 1-0 win in France last week. Villa played well and largely dealt with Lille's threat, and they may have even been frustrated at their winning margin not being wider.
Their domestic form, however, has fallen off a cliff, with Unai Emery's men winning only one of their last eight games. At the weekend, they travelled to Old Trafford to take on Manchester United and fell to a 3-1 defeat. Emery will point to midfield injuries as the culprit contributing to the team's decline, so they'll be desperately willing the return of Youri Tielemans from injury.
Still, though, Villa have won their last six European games in a row, and given Unai Emery's history in this competition, that will be of little surprise to many. Four of their last six games have seen BTTS occur, so we could see Lille get on the scoresheet this time, but Villa will be confident of claiming another European win.
Lille will be disappointed with their first leg showing, where they created very little in front of their own fans. Their European form hasn't been particularly impressive overall, with the French club winning two and losing four of their last six games in this competition.
Their away form has been mixed too, with the Ligue 1 side winning three, drawing one and losing three of their last seven games on the road. It will, then, be extremely tough for them to turn this tie around at Villa Park, with the odds heavily in the home side's favour.
Aston Villa 2-1 Lille
