AFC Bournemouth fans have lived for nights like Thursday, as the Cherries play host to European royalty AC Milan in the Europa League. Ruben Amorim returns to England for the first time since his dismissal from Manchester United.
Marco Rose secured his first Premier League win at the weekend, beating fellow European competitors Sunderland at the Vitality Stadium. The Cherries have recorded two wins from two in the Europa League with wins over Real Sociedad and Sturm Graz and now the home side have won their last two matches in all competitions following the win against Sunderland and Sturm Graz.
However, their two previous results prior to this had been defeats against stronger opposition in Chelsea (5-1) and Liverpool (0-1). Bournemouth will undoubtedly provide a huge threat to Milan but the visitors are going well under the former Manchester United manager, Ruben Amorim.
Amorim's time at Manchester United ended on a disappointing note with constant criticism over performances and formation despite the Red Devils being in sixth place when the former Sporting man departed. Milan head into this game with no defeats in their last four matches and having gone unbeaten in the league with four wins and three draws from seven matches. Amorim has tasted defeat as Milan manager, losing to Benfica at home, but they recovered in their next European game against RB Salzburg.
Milan's team is filled with star quality and none more so than former PSG striker Goncalo Ramos. Ramos is in excellent form for club and country with five goals in his last six matches.
That being said, Milan should have the edge over Bournemouth here.
