The last time these two sides met was as recent as 23rd September in the Scottish League Cup where Hibs ran out as 3-1 winners away from home thanks to three first-half goals by Joe Newell, Scott Allan and Boyle, with Peter Pawlett’s goal in the second half being a consolation for United.
