Stockport County and Peterborough United are set to clash in League One this weekend with both sides in contrasting situations.
Stockport are currently 9th in League One with ten points from seven games. Having lost the playoff final last season, the Hatters have hopes of mounting another promotion push.
Their start to the season has been mixed, and that's reflected in their form over their last five games, where they've won two, drawn one and lost two. Their wins came against Wigan (4-0) and Wycombe (5-1), their draw against Sheffield Wednesday (0-0) and their defeats against Leicester (4-3) and Luton (2-0).
Their defeat against Leicester was very much a game on the margins and their draw away at Sheffield Wednesday was an impressive performance that should've resulted in a win, so their form doesn't necessarily reflect their performances.
County are the league's top scorer with 16 goals in seven games, a tally they'll be looking to add to here. Kyle Wootton has four of those goals, with two in his last three, so he'll be eyeing up a vulnerable Posh side on Saturday.
Peterborough's situation is a lot more dramatic, with the Posh 23rd in the league table with only five points from seven games.
The club sacked Luke Williams following a string of poor performances and a bizarre post-match interview following a penalty shootout win over Barnsley in the EFL Cup, meaning the club is somewhat in turmoil.
Their league form is very poor, with two draws and three defeats from their last five outings. The defeats came against Doncaster (2-0), Sheffield Wednesday (2-1) and Blackpool (4-0), while their two points were claimed against MK Dons (1-1) and Stevenage (0-0).
In caretaker manager Ryan Harley's first game in charge, the side did manage to pick up a 3-1 win over League Two side Colchester in the EFL Trophy in midweek, but a game away at Stockport is while different proposition and it's one we think they'll fall short in.
