For our Accrington vs. Shrewsbury prediction, we're going for a 2-1 win for the away side.
Accrington Stanley continue their search for a sorely needed win as they host Shrewsbury Town this weekend.
Accrington Stanley currently sit 22nd in League One with six wins, nine draws and fourteen losses from twenty-nine games this season.
Stanley have had a very tough few months in the league as they find themselves fighting for their lives inside the relegation zone following a prolonged run of dismal form.
They enter this game having drawn two and lost three of their last five matches in the league, the most recent of which was a 0-2 defeat at home to Barnsley.
The defeat means they now have just one win in their last ten league matches and are looking worrying closer to relegation as the weeks pass by.
Their home record does look at least slightly more encouraging, however, with Stanley having won one, drawn two and lost two of their last five matches on home soil in the league.
Accrington are having a really tough time at the minute and it's tough to back them to pick up points regardless of their opponent. It's even tougher to back them when they're playing an in form side marching towards the play-offs, and that's what they're facing this weekend.
Shrewsbury Town currently sit 8th in League One with fourteen wins, six draws and eleven losses from thirty-one games this season.
The Shrews had been starkly mediocre for the majority of the season up until recent months, when an abrupt transformation in their form saw them rise up the table and cement themselves as a play-off contender.
They enter this game amidst a great run of form having won four and drawn one of their last five league matches, the most recent of which was a 0-0 draw against Exeter City.
While slightly underwhelming, the draw means they're now unbeaten in seven league matches (W6 D1 L0) and are still trending in a positive direction.
Their away form has been very good of late too, with The Shrews drawing one and winning three of their last four league games on the road.
Shrewsbury were beaten 0-1 by Accrington in the league back in August so they'll be determined to rectify that here, and given they've improved dramatically since then while Accrington have only declined it's fair to predict they'll exact revenge here.
