For our Barnsley vs. Plymouth prediction, we're going for a 2-1 win for the home side.
Barnsley are looking to continue their outstanding form as they face Plymouth Argyle in a big game involving implications in the League One promotion race this weekend.
Barnsley currently sit 4th in League One with nineteen wins, six draws and eight losses from thirty-three games this season.
After a slow first half of the campaign, The Tykes have been electric following the World Cup break as they enter this game in scintillating form with a very slight, outside chance of making a run for the automatic promotion places.
They're coming into this game one a nine-match unbeaten run having won four and drawn one of their last five matches.
Their most recent outing saw them beat Portsmouth 3-1, an impressive result given Portsmouth have shown decent form of late.
Their home form has been excellent, too, with Michael Duff's side winning each of their last four consecutive matches on home soil.
Barnsley are six points behind Ipswich in 3rd with two games in hand and if they can beat Plymouth here, and win their two games in hand, they would, in theory, be just two points outside the automatic promotion places. It's a tall order no doubt, but given their form they'll feel like they can take anybody on.
Plymouth Argyle are currently 2nd in League One with twenty-two wins, eight draws and five losses from thirty-five games this season.
The Pilgrims have had an unbelievable campaign as they currently sit in a great position to secure automatic promotion to the Championship, a feat few had anticipated coming into this season.
They enter this game amidst a decent run of form having won three, drawn one and lost one of their last five matches in the league.
Most recently, Plymouth secured a big 2-1 win against 6th place Derby County, a result that sealed a second consecutive league win which will be a huge relief after a 5-2 battering at Peterborough United at the end of February.
Their away form, though, is quite a concern here as they enter this match having won just one of their last five league matches on the road.
Plymouth beat Barnsley 1-0 when the two sides met on the opening day of the season but this game will undoubtedly be much, much tougher. Barnsley are in their pomp right now and Plymouth's poor away form could well be their undoing in this one.
