For our Barnsley vs. Portsmouth prediction, we're going for a 1-1 draw.
We have a huge clash in League One this weekend as Barnsley welcome Portsmouth to Oakwell.
Barnsley are currently sit 6th in League One with eighteen wins, six draws and eight losses from thirty-two games this season.
After a fairly slow start, The Tykes have had a fine season in League One as they find themselves odds on to secure a play-off spot as they sit six points clear of Wycombe in 7th with a game in hand.
Barnsley enter this game amidst a strong run of form having gone unbeaten in their last eight matches, winning four of their last five.
Most recently, a four-match winning streak came to an end for Michael Duff's side as Barnsley drew 0-0 away at Bristol City. While somewhat disappointing, Bristol City have a habit of taking points off the league's better sides so it's not a bad result by any means.
Their home form is excellent heading into this encounter, with The Tykes winning each of their last three on the bounce at Oakwell while winning four of their last five on home soil.
Barnsley are full steam ahead at the minute and look well on course for a top six finish. They face a tough test against an in form side here but there's little reason to back against them on home soil right now.
Portsmouth currently sit 10th in League One with thirteen wins, twelve draws and eight losses from thirty-three games this season.
Pompey have had a peculiar season in that after a rapid start that had them looking like automatic promotion contenders they abruptly collapsed and embarked upon dismal run of form that saw them continually slide down the table.
After a change in manager, they now seem to finally be heading in the right direction once more as they enter this game having won their last three games on the bounce while going unbeaten in their last five (W4 D1 L0)
Most recently, Portsmouth claimed three points away at Cambridge United with a 1-0 win courtesy of a Colby Bishop winner.
Having taken four points from their last two games on the road Pompey will be confident of getting a result here, regardless of how tough it may be.
The two sides drew 1-1 when they met in the league last month and don't be surprised if we get an identical result here as the game will surely be as competitive.
