Blackpool will open the doors of Bloomfield Road once more when they meet with Stevenage this weekend back in League One after some midweek action with the away side aiming to keep up their bid for the league title.
It's been a sensational start to the season for Stevenage in what is their first season back in League one in four years. The club come into this one in fourth place and with just three losses on the board - only the top two, Oxford United and Portsmouth have fewer wins on their record than them.
Stevenage were defeated by Wycombe Wanderers 1-0 in their last outing from a Football League Trophy game. However, they managed to beat Wigan Athletic in a 1-0 home win with Aaron Pressley scoring a penalty in the first nine minutes of the game before Alex MacDonald was sent off.
A 3-1 loss to Bolton Wanderers came in before that as they were also defeated by Oxford United 3-1 before that on home soil. Despite losing against two contenders for promotion, Stevenage are still well in with a shout of a spot in the top six if form can continue. In fact, the club eased to 3-0 win over Cheltenham Town before this run, as Jordan Roberts scored before a brace from Elliot List in the second half.
As for Blackpool, they head into this game down in 10th place and with a 5-2 win over Liverpool U21s to boast of. Kylian Kouassi scored a hat-trick in the second half that day after coming off the bench. They are, however, winless in their past two league games with Derby County defeating them 3-1 before a 2-2 draw with Charlton Athletic.
