Bolton Wanderers and Barnsley will meet in the first leg of their League One playoff semi-finals this weekend with Bolton set to play hosts to the Tykes in a game that sees fourth take on fifth from the final standings in the table.
Unlike Bolton, Barnsley have had playoffs status secured in League One for a number of weeks. The club finished their season on 86 points from 46 outings and won 26 games throughout the season with just eight draws.
This does, however, mean they lost 12 times, but with 80 goals scored, only those in the top three scored more with Barnsley even netting just one goal less than Plymouth Argyle's tally.
Barnsley have not won in the past three games since their playoffs spot was secured. This has seen them win only one of their past five games, drawing with Lincoln City a week on from thrashing Forest Green Rovers 5-1.
A win over Oxford United at home would come soon after, before Barnsley lost 3-0 at home to Ipswich Town and then played out a thrilling 4-4 draw with MK Dons away from Oakwell. They also lost last time out to Peterborough United in a 2-0 defeat.
As for Bolton, they have won three of their past four games and concluded the season with a 3-2 win over Bristol Rovers away from home. They did, however, already have a spot in the top seven six secured by that stage after defeating Shrewsbury Town and beating Fleetwood Town.
